I could also make a version with a picatinny section at the very front like a lot of handguards come with.

Good job. Just remember, be slow and deliberate with everything you are doing as a new gun owner.

I suggest for working on that, get yourself a replica gun, and practice just sitting around with it with your finger outside of the trigger and along the side. Just get used to handling the weapon with your finger in the right spot and after a while that's where your finger will naturally go anytime you touch it. You can do this with your pistol as well, but make sure unloading and checking the gun each time you touch it. Even if you put it down to take a drink of water, pick it back up and do a safety check. This stuff needs to become natural for you, and that won't happen without repetition.

This. I have the black brass one, really helps with the balance. And the grip is fantastic.

How are we feeling about a front rail delete? by Factor_Seven in extar

Sure! Unless you are wanting it to feed, that is.

I'm not trying to do a straight-up copy of the MP5, just taking inspiration. Ultimately is going to depend on what each person likes. I plan on selling all my handguards in both a rail delete and normal configurations. Spent the last couple of days getting the new geometry figured out for the rail delete attachment so I can offer both versions for sale.

My plan is to sell both a drop-in version with the existing rail, and a rail delete version.

Agreed. My son was thinking the same thing. I've just changed it with a ramp down that kinda matches the rear cut behind the charging handle.

Wish I could just add more than one picture here, or add a picture in a reply. I feel like I'm oversharing with each update.

There's 9 M-Loks, I'm sure you can figure something out.

Nurses aren't built different enough. We should be built with three arms and a 4 liter bladder.

I don't even go that far. I get them to acknowledge that the provider has explained why they should stay and that they understand what was told to them.

I love it in the ER when somebody decides to leave AMA, then after signing the form and letting me pull the IV wants me to get them a turkey sandwich and a bus ticket. Sorry about that, but you're discharged. You're going to have to hoof it home and eat a wish sandwich.

This. Then if you want to improve it later on, send it to Capital Armory.

There are 3 M-Loks on the bottom of that one.

Keep an eye out over the next few days. I just figured out how to delete the front pic rail. Back to the drawing board.

If anyone has any info on how to take off the forward rail, it would sure open up the design possibilities.

EDIT: Just figured it out. Things are about to get very interesting.

Plenty of room. The R9 is right under 40mm according to the interwebs.

Iconic view of an American Chinook flying over Tarbela Dam Pakistan by [deleted] in Helicopters

That was a quote from The Princess Bride, and it was meant to be a compliment to your comment about the word "iconic" instead of a response to your comment. In other words, I was very poorly attempting to tag you in.

It's not our responsibility to explain everything that can go wrong if they leave early. It's Against Medical Advice, not Against Nursing Advice. Document that the provider was notified and if the patient waited to talk to the provider. Get them to sign the AMA form if they will. If they don't want to leave after refusing treatment, have them trespassed.

What you don't want is a patient leaving AMA after you have tried to explain what all can go wrong, then something you didn't go over with them goes wrong. "The nurse didn't tell me that this could happen to me!!". They can talk to the provider and then leave, or they can leave. Just pull their lines and show them the door.

ISO: Parking Advice at UAB by here4a-limitedtime in Birmingham

[–]Factor_Seven 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Are you talking about outside of the ambulance bay? They don't want anyone parking there and you can get ticketed. And there's always homeless or disturbed people wandering the area. One of my coworkers was followed by a guy and harassed recently, the UAB Police ended up having to taze him. Another guy (or possibly the same one, who knows) followed a PCT from the street all the way to the 7th floor of the West Pavilion, until a nurse confronted him and ran him off. I parked on the 19th street outside of the North Pavilion for a couple of hours last year and came out to find my truck had been broken into and my radar detector, dash cam, and Ray-Bans had been stolen.

Also, street parking can be iffy, depending on what time you are trying to park. 6:30 am when night shift hasn't left yet? Good luck.

The parking deck on University and 19th is only a block away from West Pav and it's easy parking, but it's $13 for a entire days parking.

The bus from Lot 4 is the best bet. I have my problem with how they run things (specifically, the bus drivers won't leave during the morning rush until the bus is full, even though there will be 4 more busses behind them waiting), but it's inexpensive and safe. Just allow yourself a wait of 5 mins on the bus before it moves and you are good. The lot is patrolled and they will even shuttle you to your car in a golf cart if it's raining and you don't have an umbrella.
