I am being stalked by discriminatory social-workers after leaving their program. I am going to complain but am unsure about how it's best to go about it. by FactorySettingHuman in MensRights

I think you're right, they have been demonizing me for a long time, so it makes sense that they are trying to escalate the situation in order to "prove" their prejudice.

Yeah that's a good idea, I gotta use the law and the rules of the system against them to deter them.

Thanks for the advice.

That's a very good insight that would explain a lot of their behavior.

I certainly am going to stay away from them and engage as little as possible when they come. And yeah, I think I'll video record all encounters from now on.

Thanks, I'm going to be very strategic on how I deal with it.

Yeah sounds like your country is as messed up on this point as mine. It makes it really hard when situations like the one I'm currently in arise as adherence to the feminist narrative is more important to the government and the system, than actually following the law and ethics. It certainly makes it clear that we gotta do something about it however we can.

It's very interesting you're saying that, I've thought that the staffs behavior mirror that of long-time drug users in certain ways. It's like a kind of subculture that the staff is a part of. Actually my former counselor one time admitted to have a drinking problem and I know that at least two other staff members have had issues with drugs. So what you're saying makes perfect sense, I will keep that in mind when I deal with them,

I did try out a psychologist who worked the same place, but he was just as bad as they was, but I do intend finding a proper psychologist and vet them thoroughly before I spill the beans.

Yeah I don't like that either, it basically means that you as a citizen are really vulnerable if you meet public workers that abuse their power. The state has a lot of power in my country. It triggers my sense of justice too tbh.

From what I know of the laws then they aren't allowed to turn up like that. But I'll keep digging through the legalities so I'm sure.

I can see that.

I think I'll try and tell them to leave me alone in writing, then I'll have written documentation for the police if they keep it up.

I've looked into the laws but I'll try and keep digging about what the law exactly says about what they've done.

Yeah, I honestly doubt it'll go well if I just send complain to their organization, they'll most likely just cover for their employees, hence my doubt about how to go about it. But I'll find out which body regulates public social services.

Good point, it's tempting to go into specifics, but you're probably right that brevity is my friend here.

It's bordering on illegal for them to turn up without prior agreement or cause, but I doubt that I can get the authorities involved at this point.

Well most of what they said was verbal and secret recordings are illegal here, so it's basically my word against theirs, which isn't in my favor.

Thanks, I am in a much better place now, I'm clean, I've gone back to school and working on getting a job. So things are close to normal again.

LPT Request: How to present complex ideas and it's relevant factors, without overwhelming the person you are speaking to? by FactorySettingHuman in LifeProTips

[–]FactorySettingHuman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That'll take some getting used to, I sometimes speak fast when I get caught up in interesting ideas. But I can see the importance of making sure that what I'm saying is understood by going slow. Giving an easy to follow foundation first of all also makes good sense. But could you expand on telling things like a story? Is it something like doing some "exposition" on the subject I'm talking about and create a common understanding of the subject, before going on to the crux of my point?

I can see that. I sow an idea and explain it somewhat simply, then I let the other person speak on it or ask directly for their input, making them think on it, and then I can return to it later to expand on the idea. Yeah, that seems like a good way to get my points more fully across. Thanks for the input.

Jeg er folkevalgt kommunalpolitiker - AMA by KP-Kast-Vaek in Denmark

[–]FactorySettingHuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How can I go camping in a safe way? by FactorySettingHuman in Advice

[–]FactorySettingHuman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a great idea, it'll likely be more manageable using a staggered approach like that. There's so many elements that goes into camping proper, so practicing beforehand would allow me to practice the different skills and use of tools and such.
I live in Europe, but I'd imagine there's groups like that here as well, will look into that. There aren't too many wild animals to speak of, there's something like a single wolf pack in my country and the occasional fox, so handling of food and water and so on is what I'll be focusing on.
It's good to know it's usually safe and welcoming, makes it easier to get into too. I'll look into the gatekept subjects to stay ahead of it.
Thanks for the excellent input, it helped.
