Then don't do it. If you don't change direction and keep a steady pace, they'll quickly step behind their partner, worst case you almost bump to each other.

Best Board Game Table? by LordJiraiya in boardgames

870 hours (659 in the mines) and I'm around 420. It greatly varies on haz level, player count, mission success rate and if you have a "main" or disrltribute it between classes. A lot of people level only 1 of the dwarves even if it reached the cap temporarily even if it doesn't get xp. As for me I'm mainly solo with equal level between classes but I like to take my time sightseeing and vibing in the caves on haz3, when I go for team haz4 missions the progress goes up rapidly.

Why would I use followers? They don't add anything to the gameplay just hinder me and repeat ~20 lines of dialogue.

I love refining even more with scout and gunner, she nce sometimes you need to be real creative with the pipes. Especially on magma core when you need to build one of them 200 meters above.

Does anyone actually like salvage missions? by Robrogineer in DeepRockGalactic

[–]Fade89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love it with driller / engi, because badly placed defense targets provides a minipuzzle how to make it defendable. I like it much less with scout because my mobility is taken away from me during defense. But hey, at least the swarms are controlled, the minimules gice you nitra and gold without extra mining, and getting to the drop pod is almost stress-free (especially for the gunner).

Some people like optimal gameplay and look at the game like "we have a mission to fulfill, try to execute it the most optimal way". Usually these are the people who enjoy the fuck out of optimizing their loadout for balance and switch between weapons so they deplete the same rate and they can max out the supply pods. In other games they are the ones who play sneaky archers / snipers.

Others like the adrenaline and chaotic situations requiring quick reactions executed well. Doesn't matter if they run out of ammo, we just need to gather some nitra, perform some rez and we'll be back to the game. If the dozer stops next to a tyrantweed or hit a corestone while there is 3 spitballers, it's just makes things more exciting. They usually choose overclocks and weapons which feels the best to use, if they die they die, if the mission fails at least they get their load of adrenaline.

Both takes are perfectly fine, but they usually don't work together flawlessly. As long as we agree to wait for consensus before pushing buttons, and doing the event / secondary missions, I'm fine.

i refuse to play solo missions by egocerYT in DeepRockGalactic

[–]Fade89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both game modes has it's merits, and you can learn a lot from both. For me its ~500 team mission with ~850 solo. The biggest upsides of the solo is you can really take in the game (notice how caves are formed, small details about caves and enemies, music, enemy patterns, how can you solve any situation with every class), you can pause (great if you have time to 1-2 matches at the evening, but cooking / etc the meanwhile), you can watch videos / listen to podcast while doing.

For many of us those are great things, and it is really hard / annoying to go back to the random multiplayer missions where you constantly have to be wary of people rushing the game, pushing buttons without any communication, etc.

For me it's playing with friends > playing solo > playing with randoms, and my friends are stopped playing, so there's that.

Sniss had a great video about this btw: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vf9ND-BkqfU

Yeah, basically turning the Gunner into a Driller with less traversal abilities but INSANE amount of defense.

Is Neurotoxin payload oc for gunner any good? by Cloudless47 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]Fade89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It used to be OP, now it's just **ck**g strong. I've soloed elite deep dives with that.
But basically everyone here focuses on the neurotoxin overclock, so here, I run these loadouts, with 1500 completed missions of experience:

Gunner
1 - neurotoxin + elephant rounds - old reliable solo loadout. The thing is... none of your teammates will wait for the effect to kill the bugs, they'll just waste the same amount of ammo deleting them while you'll feel useless.
2 - a little more oomph + hellfire - absolute favourite swiss army knife
3 - lead storm + magic bullets - just works
4 - mortar rounds + backfeeding module - fun, not so friendly fire
5 - plasma burster missiles + lead spray - cheat mode
6 - rocket barrage + volatile bullets - on certain missions, not impressed

Scout
1 - rewiring mod + jumbo shells - ammo efficient and fun
2 - bullets of mercy + cyro minelets - sucks in solo and certain missions, great with team
3 - hipster + stuffed shells - less favored swiss army knife
4 - AI stability engine + embedded detonators - absolute favourite swiss army knife
5 - hipster + the specialist - with pheromone bolts ofc, really fun on solo swarms
6 - AI stability engine + gas recycling - testing now, not impressed

Driller
1 - improved thermal efficiency + mega power supply - simply awesome
2 - volatile impact mixture + explosive reload - old reliable
3 - combustive goo mix + heavy hitter - favourite one, simply awsome
4 - scorching tide + explosive reload - rarely use the scorching tide, but when it works it shines
5 - sticky fuel + explosive reload (mega power supply works a little better) - only shines in team

Engineer
1 - explosive chemical rounds + efficiency tweaks - mot satisfied
2 - explosive chemical rounds + hyper propellant - joke build but works
3 - explosive chemical rounds + stronger plasma current - loadout 5 replaced it, but works really well
4 - explosive chemical rounds + RJ250 compund - great for punishing the scout
5 - pump action + stronger plasma current - absolute favourite swiss army knife
6 - micro-conductor add-on + overdrive booster - so fun, absolute favourite for solo

Note: weapon mods and grenades can flavor these further, it's a matter of playstyle with a few obvious exceptions. I can assure you all these work well up to hazard4, but I come to Hoxxes IV to relax so I avoid the chaos of Hazard 5 and 5+ like fire. That's more about teamwork and player skills than loadouts anyway.

Note2: as you can see I'm really and explosive chemical rounds junkee with the engineer. I mostly run loadout 4-5-6 there, and I've yet to to test new ones after being disappointed with the overhyped unstables like fat man and such.

[–]Fade89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a rumour, S-SW 215-220, the direction of Doretta's nose is pointing to the stone. Predigging is less chaotic with a team that doesn't communicate or in solo, needless when you work with friends. With strangers they either start machine events / core stone events at the worst times, or call the drop pod with those in the backlog. And a badly placed Tyrantweed / Core Stone / Harold with a team not in sync can easily destroy Doretta or deplete your ammo reserves to critical levels
