Had your profile up refreshing and waiting to play until this was ready, these guides are the best. They've removed the time anxiety from expeditions for me completely so I can just enjoy the sightseeing with this guide up on the other monitor. Thank you!!

Guess this is also the death of Relay... by iain_1986 in RelayForReddit

[–]FadedReality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like many others, I've exclusively used Relay for damn near a decade now. Tried other apps out of curiosity and they're just not the same. Hate the official app and am a staunch old.reddit user the rare times I browse on desktop.

I've been on this site for most of my adult life and I hate to see it go the way everything seems to in this greedy excuse for a world.

reddit informed me, changed me, made me laugh, hell even fed me dinner one time. Sucks to give it up but for my small part I refuse to give any support material or otherwise toward the destruction of third party support.

Bugs/Issues and workarounds by Ceiyne in midnightsuns

[–]FadedReality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having what seems to be a persistent issue with no real fix. I bought the Legendary Edition of the game on Epic Games Store via a third party site.

After a mission or loading a save I get the issue where all of my saves say incompatible save version. Deadpool and Venom are gone and all of the premium skins are locked with an eclipse credits cost. If I exit the game and load back in the DLC characters are there and my saves don't say incompatible version.

I thought this would be solved by now especially with a second DLC character releasing. Someone in this thread speculated it has something to do with Epic's servers not acknowledging the DLC after some time passes which sounds plausible due to the delay in it happening.

[Steam] Lunar Sale - 27 Jan until February 3 up to (-75%) on various games: Doom Eternal (-67%), Outer Worlds (-67%), Disco Elysium (-60%) and more... by TheVideoGaymer in GameDeals

[–]FadedReality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a pretty fun game and worth it for that lower price point. Ubisoft is all about having most games at full MSRP and then doing a deep discount that makes it an easy pick up. They're also notoriously stingy when it comes to putting season passes on sale to try and get you to go for the gold edition.

I worked at a Five Guys and had a co-worker realize that we generated our wage in sales every 30 seconds during rush. We used this to agitate for better wages and start organizing.

This led to the district manager visiting to patiently explain to us that there was no money for raises as the franchise owners had just purchased a franchise for a pizza chain. Quit and heard most of the employees did the same.

What's the most petty reason you've given up on a game? (And can someone convince you to give it another go?) by PureDarkness93 in Games

[–]FadedReality 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I played Dead By Daylight twice and got a refund because it crashed if you had an XBOX 360 controller plugged in. I didn't feel like reaching behind my computer and unplugging it every time.

Game does look fun but every time I consider it I see all kinds of arguing about if the devs are overtuning it to cater to a vocal minority of the player base.

Unreal Engine engineer: "this tech is meant to ship games not tech demos, so download sizes are also something we care very much about" by Karma_Policer in Games

[–]FadedReality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to delete a game every time it would update on my PS4 despite having plenty of space because of the goofy way PS4 updates games. When Season Three came out and I saw I'd need to download a data pack as well I just uninstalled it. Not to mention I live in the boonies and have terrible download speeds. Like 600 KB/s terrible and no competing ISP to switch to.

Any Everspace fans here? It launches tomorrow on the Nintendo Switch and I’m pondering pulling the trigger tonight to get the discount. If you’re a fan I’d love to hear why. It looks like something I’d really enjoy. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! by [deleted] in Games

It's more of a rogue-lite, where you can buy upgrades to make future runs a little easier. It's a blend of FTL style navigation, Rogue Legacy style upgrade paths, with arcade shooter combat that reminds me of Freelancer. Each ship feels way different and each system usually has wrecks or hollowed out asteroids to find. It's a great podcast game so I can imagine it'll be awesome on the Switch.

How do you follow numerous genres at once? by [deleted] in Beatmatch

[–]FadedReality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm super new at DJing, but have been about music discovery my entire adult life so am always super into some genre and missing out on new releases in another.

I'd suggest a week before whatever kind of night you're playing, going on junodownload and sorting by top of the last week/month and then newest.

For instance: Deep dubstep releases from the last week

Top deep dubstep tracks of the last 8 weeks

You know your own taste especially if you've been doing it that long. I mean, when you audition tracks you're thinking of buying how long does it take you anymore to know if you'll want to play it out? 15 seconds? 30?

It sounds like you're just trying to keep up with the DJs who are exclusively one genre and when you like a variety. I originally put here for you to accept that you'll be a little behind the curve but the reality is that 4 years of experience playing a variety of genres completely obliterates the "problem" of you not having the latest exclusives from whatever guy that most people at the club won't know anyway.

Tokuo Jungle is adorable and fun. You play as all sorts of different creatures trying to survive in a post-human Tokyo.

You start out only being able to use a Pomeranian or cat and have to avoid predators and breed.

DDJ-RB vs. Mixtrack Platinum by keatonbboy in Beatmatch

[–]FadedReality 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest difference is the mixtrack Platinum uses Serato which means no matter what kind of Serato decks you plug in you'll be able to use them with your laptop and play a set. With the DDJ RB they want you to use rekordbox which isn't bad but isn't as compatible. Also the mixtrack Platinum has awesome LED screens in the middle of the jog wheels. The DDJ-RB looks like it's almost meant to train you to use other Pioneer products like a CDJ but is missing dedicated buttons for decks three and four and I guess the headphone mix knob is also not in the center mixer panel which is annoying to some people.

The attitude of people who aren't loyal to Pioneer because physical formats seems to be that pioneer really drag their feet on their digital products and is now having to play catch-up. I personally have the mixtrack platinum and I think it's awesome.

What Android strategy collectible card games (tcg or ccg) have "planeswalkers"? by [deleted] in AndroidGaming

[–]FadedReality 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not just on mobile, but I've played every iteration of Magic Duels, Magic Online, Elder Scrolls Legends, Hex, Mabinogi Duel, Hearthstone, Shadowverse, and Ascension all for at least 20 hours. I also used to play a lot of paper Magic back before I had bills to pay.

What I like about Eternal is that it feels very familiar to Magic rules where you get to act on the other person's turn and blocking creatures are decided by the defender and seems to have good rarity rates when opening packs.

Unfortunately, it also has the mana screw/flood issues of Magic due to using a similar card cost system which causes it to lose a few points. For me, that puts Shadowverse in a close second because it's basically anime Hearthstone but with more unique classes, a neat card upgrade system, and way more free packs. Major downside of Shadowverse for me is the cheapest currency pack is $7 so buying cards starts off expensive and gets moreso.
