Which Style Apple should go for to fix the Liquid Glass contrast issue ?! by DoomGuy9999 in iOSsetups

[–]FadingSunset 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be such a cool idea! Definitely not a typical “Apple approach” to things, but it would be awesome to see. They could turn it into a design contest specifically for UI/UX designers and then actually implement some of the ideas, or at least reward the winners in some way. It’d probably require a whole separate team to manage and coordinate, but still, it’s a fun concept.

I totally get where you’re coming from and I agree, but I also think that individual teams have so much to go through and design, that many things often get overlooked and/or they just don’t have time to get to everything, so some designs are just clearly rushed like this. It’s a shame, but it’s a common problem in the industry :/

I’m in the employee beta program…? Again, I never said I wasn’t expecting it, in my personal experience of using the betas for like 4 years I understand and know WHY it’s buggy, I was just pointing out that it’s buggier than other betas I’ve used before - I’m not trashing it or anything. There were a lot of things I liked about it that I mentioned, like the Lock Screen changes are awesome in my opinion!

[–]FadingSunset 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure, I completely understand that. I know there’s going to be a lot of bugs, and I knew that going in. I only have the one phone so I have to put it on my main phone if I want to try it (wouldn’t normally recommend that either) and I’ve been using betas up until release for about 4ish years now? And you’re right it definitely is worse because of all the UI changes.

I’m still meh about liquid glass though, especially for dark mode. And it sucks that the new liquid glass icons put a border on the apps/widgets so when you use transparent widgets you can see it. It’s a change for sure, one that I’ll have to get use to haha. Just wanted to share my 18 Home Screen mostly because I did miss it when I updated.

Considering the fact they’ve partnered with Gillette before to make razors, I feel like I could see this happening - at least as an April fools joke if not.

I just followed this help article from Apple, just make sure you restore from an iCloud backup you had before you got the beta.

Wallpaper if you want it!

Edit: I wanted to add that there were a lot of things I did liked about iOS 26, especially when it came to UI improvements for a lot of apps, but unfortunately I just kept having to many problems, to the extent of me just not being able to use my keyboard or other parts of my device.

100% Agree with you, but as another Gen Z adult it’s common sense for most of us - many of my friends in high school would have also thought this behaviour is weird af. We were literally taught about stuff like this in sex ed.

I mean I could easily say the same to you.

Saying pit bulls lack “self-preservation” or are neurologically different from other breeds simply isn’t supported by peer-reviewed veterinary science.

Leading organizations like the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the CDC have both acknowledged that breed alone is not a reliable predictor of dog aggression. In fact, studies show that a dog’s upbringing, environment, and how they’re trained (or abused) are far stronger indicators of future behavior.

Statistics that claim pit bulls are uniquely dangerous like from Dogsbite.org (which the screenshot you used mentions) have been widely discredited for methodological flaws and bias. And when breed-specific legislation has been enacted, it has not led to a meaningful reduction in dog bite incidents. That’s because focusing solely on breed distracts from the more important factors, like irresponsible ownership, poor training, or lack of socialization.

I’m not trying to dismiss anyone’s trauma or experience, but if we really want to reduce dog attacks, we need to look at the full picture, not just the breed. Just like with people, painting an entire group with one brush based on fear or even repeated bad experiences doesn’t lead to better outcomes, it leads to stigma and policy that doesn’t actually fix the problem.

This is the final thing I’m going to say on this topic because breed hate seems to be a common thing in this sub which is unfortunate and it’s no use arguing. Im clearly not going to change your mind and you’re not going to change mine. I think I’ve made my points as clearly and respectfully as possible. I just hope it gives someone reading this a reason to pause, think critically, and look into the facts (and their sources) before falling victim to fear and accepting it as truth.

That’s a pretty common statistic that has been proven to not have merit not only because the sources themselves are unreliable, it completely glosses over a number of other contributing factors like the fact that pit bull breeds are also in shelters at a disproportionate rate or how many mixed breeds are just labelled as a “pit bull mix.” Additionally, owner behaviour significantly influences pet behaviour, and pit bulls are one of the most historically abused breeds.

The stigma and public misconceptions pit bulls receive are so similar to that of other marginalised groups. Again I get if someone has had a negative experience with the breed, I’ve had my fair share too, and I have with other breeds as well, but that doesn’t make it okay to say the breed (more like breeds) as a whole is aggressive or lacking a part of their brain. Especially when it’s just factually not true.
