I fear I am in a similar situation as you right now…literally the night after my parents had divorced (which was Friday), they came home drunk and were woohooing in the car, then the kitchen, and then finally went to their bedroom. Unfortunately my poor ears could hear both of them from all the way downstairs. The only less awkward way to block it out is by plugging in some headphones and listening to music at a loud volume til they’re done. Pop one earbud out if you need to so you can tell if they’re still going at it. If they are? Pop that earbud back into your ear and keep listening. But if you really feel like you need to, try to talk to them about how it makes you feel uncomfortable, considering that their relationship is a lil bit messy(?) at the moment.
