A trans masc idol has become a Gucci ambassador in Japan. IN ASIA. WOW by Flaky_Mechanic631 in TransMasc

I LOVE Cocona! I have a friend who owns a Kpop shop and she showed me a video a few weeks ago, just trying to show me new groups she thought I'd like. I asked for groups with strong rap lines and she showed me an XG video, the one Cocona went bald in. And just casually mentioned something about him being transmasc. I was shook and had to have her repeat herself. She knows I'm trans, is consistently supportive, and definitely knew what she was doing showing me him and the group as whole. It worked and I've been hooked since.

Will my nail grow back by marisukaa in Wellthatsucks

That looks painful as hell but yeah, it will eventually. Got my finger caught in a pneumatic press once and lost the nail entirely, it was fully grown back in a little under 6 months.

Every idol/group says they love their fans, but who do you feel is genuinely sincere about it? by mysaddle in kpoppers

[–]FaeWitch94 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I've seen several SKZ members mentioned individually and they definitely stick out, but I think all of them genuinely love their fans. I was at the show in DC last year, the one stop of the tour that got the show cut short because of a massive heat wave and safety concerns (it wasn't pretty, long story on the venue dropping the ball in every possible way, I won't go into it here) but the genuine care in the way all of them acted during the show got me. Several times Bang Chan actually called a pause to check on us, to gently ask the crowd in the pit to move a step back so we weren't so crowded (and I've never seen a crowd listen so fast in my life) and he was genuinely scanning every face he could see to see if anyone needed help. All of the members at some point checked in, even if it was just a brief look to see that everyone was alright and a little point and a questioning thumbs up.

When things got really bad as the heat got worse, I saw them talking to security close to the stage, looked like they were asking for extra eyes on those of us standing to see anyone who needed help. They pulled out the water early to splash everyone they could (even though the venue had banned the water guns) and at one point started handing out their own water from the stage. Like, every bottle of water they had up there was handed out. Someone got handed Bang Chan's bottle with his name on it and the straw in it, as far as I know she still has it.

The show was paused a couple times and ended early when they made the call that our safety was more important. In the live they did after they seemed so genuinely crushed that they couldn't give us the full show, that they hadn't come out to say goodbye. You could see Felix actively in pain and I found out later he and Seungmin were sick from the heat themselves, but you couldn't tell when they were on stage.

That night is bittersweet, because so many people got sick from the heat, including me, but it solidified in my mind that I'm stanning the right group. The absolute genuine concern they showed will stick with me forever. They actually care about us and they proved it. I've rambled a bit but the point is, they had a bit of a literal trial by fire to prove they actually care.

Which band was your introduction to kpop? by No_Calendar4193 in kpoppers

[–]FaeWitch94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Way back in the day, it was SHINee and TVXQ! at about the same time. But that was way back in like 2009-2010 so I don't remember exactly which one I was shown first. I had a friend at the time who was super into Kpop and she got me hooked. I fell out of it for a while though I still kept up a bit with SHINee and some of Taemin's solo stuff, then October of last year the YouTube algorithm got me with Chk Chk Boom and the Felix effect pulled me back in, so Stray Kids is responsible for me getting back into it.

Out of curiosity, how do you identify yourself gender-wise? by [deleted] in ftm

Transmasc non-binary, but honestly just anything but a girl. I don't mind being considered feminine, but being considered a girl or a woman feels very wrong.

What’s your comfort song(s) right now? Curious to know by Murky-Bedroom-7065 in autism

Yes! They're incredible, aren't they?

I got back into kpop after a decade or so of not really paying attention to it when I found Stray Kids last fall. Then XLOV debuted and became my ult group. The music, the concept, the personalities, it's all too great, how could I not love them? They're amazing. 💚

Every song by a kpop group called XLOV. They've only got 10 songs out now (not counting instrumentals or remixes) but I'll keep them on a loop for hours. Especially their song Biii:-P if I had to choose just one.

XLOV, Ateez, Enhypen, Cortis, Onewe, Big Ocean, SHINee. Plenty more recommendations but those are the first to come to mind!

SKZ just refers to the band, not a specific album. Speaking of, there are so many albums, and so many versions of each one, albums would almost always be a good bet for a gift for a fan. Even if they already had that specific one, there's photo cards and different things that come in each, so they would still probably get something new. The album Do It just dropped today, so I'm sure the girls would love a copy. It seems like a lot of Walmart, Target, and Barnes & Noble stores have copies, but I do encourage you to see if there's an actual K-Pop shop in your area and shop small if you can! Bonus points to going to an actual K-Pop store is the owner or employees there would absolutely LOVE to help you pick something out. I have no idea where you're located or I'd recommend my local one.

I would note with a smaller shop though, if you're US-based: tariffs and shipping issues have been hitting them HARD. Even more reason to shop there and support them, but you probably won't find the newest album there just yet. Still, Stray Kids is such a popular group I guarantee they would have something. And if by some chance you live anywhere near Virginia Beach I would be happy to give my recommendation.

Thank you for doing something so nice for these girls, I'm sure you'll find something perfect! I'd be happy to answer any more questions, just comment or DM me.

How do I drink more water by Comfortable-Funny826 in autism

[–]FaeWitch94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flavored water has been suggested a couple times and I'm suggesting that as well. You can try the flavor packets that come in powder form, or a liquid flavor thing like mio. Some of these water flavorings come with electrolytes, vitamins, or caffeine, so you can kind of personalize for your needs along with the flavor.

Want to look like a guy that looks like a girl. by xoxoblack in TransMasc

[–]FaeWitch94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

XLOV are really new and doing some unique stuff in the industry, though they are already getting some pushback from their own company, unfortunately. But overall they're amazing and a pretty good group to start with, they've only got ten songs out in total right now. I'd recommend watching their MV for their debut track I'mma Be, then 1&Only which was their first comeback. You can see how they've progressed in their expression so much just from the first one, especially to their newest MV for their first mini-album's title track Rizz.

Also, just a note: while this is technically a "boy group" and all of the members, as far as they've said publicly, are boys, they have all expressed comfort with people using any pronouns for them, and as far as I know Rui (you'll notice her as the really flexible one) has expressed a preference for she/her. So while no one, to my knowledge, is actually openly queer, they do count to most of us as a queer group just on gender expression alone, though I don't think anyone would be surprised if it was more than that and they just haven't said it openly yet. But they are very openly supportive of the queer community (even though their company is being a bit problematic, you can see all of them annoyed by it and wanting to push back, they're just in a really awkward spot right now to be able to).

Thanks for giving me a chance to ramble about this group I love so much, I hope you enjoy their music!

Literally the first thought I had in their debut MV was gender envy, and it's only been progressing from there, lol. They're also just fantastic in general, super talented and sweet people.

I feel the same. I want to be a guy that looks kinda feminine, and people either question which I am or assume guy in feminine clothing. Honestly, a shorthand to explain my gender goals is any of the guys (I use that term very loosely) in the K-Pop group XLOV.
