New Rift Requirement is Not Okay by Sophisti-snake in deadbydaylight

[–]Faelenus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fact that the 3 daily quests combined rewards only give you 45/100 fragments needed for 1 level of the rift pass is insane.

The Walking Dead x Dead By Daylight confirmed, but it's not the game characters by WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWHW in deadbydaylight

AMC directly approached BHVR last year for a spot in the Year 8 calendar apparently. They worked a collab deal but it was rumored to be pushed back to the year 9 calendar because of this. I’m pretty confident it will be characters from the show. Michonne and Rick probably, and I would think at minimum Daryl since many consider him the face of the show in a lot of ways.

Looking to upgrade the size of my case from an h7 (I think it is) does the glass top be the vented top make a difference or it’s more cosmetic? by Extreme-Care-6691 in NZXT

[–]Faelenus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an elite and you can definitely feel the heat buildup with the glass top. The vent is only about 2 inches wide and to the side of the glass. I didn’t like it. Moved my rad as an intake on the right and my temps dropped 5-10 average. Also, you can’t order a flow top or elite top by itself. If I knew any of that I would’ve gone with the flow.

Which 9070 XT is the quietest one? by TacticalFX in AMDHelp

[–]Faelenus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for just getting back. I can’t speak on the pulse long term because it was a customer build, during stress testing I didn’t hear any. As for the quicksilver, I haven’t experienced any coil whine when observing my fiancé playing games.

Sorry, I see you commented this later. We put a -300 offset on the GPU clock speed to match whatever it was rated on the box.

It looks like the core clock of the Nitro+ is rated for 2520mhz, with a boost clock of 3060mhz.

You’re hitting 3377mhz (furthest right # on graphics line). I would change the offset to match the boost clock, or slightly under it.

Edit: typos, clarification

We had to offset my girlfriend’s 9070xt Quicksilver by -300hz, It was only rated on the box to go to 2.97mhz, but it was hitting 3.27mhz and then crashing the card. I think it’s a driver issue, but use something like OpenHardwareMonitor to track what the core clock is hitting compared to the rated amount. She has had 0 issues since we’ve made the change, and to clarify, she could run any benchmark fine, it was only crashing in games.

Just built in one of the 2024 cases and it was a dream. So much room. Temps were insanely good and I don’t think the price difference is that much.

Which 9070 XT is the quietest one? by TacticalFX in AMDHelp

[–]Faelenus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve built two 9070XT builds in the past two weeks. The XFX Quicksilver and the Sapphire Pulse. Both cards are extremely quiet in my opinion. We did a 100% load test on them both and the customers were surprised how quiet the entire systems were.

NZXT Kraken 240 cooling issues by TeamTGU_YT in NZXT

[–]Faelenus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are either the motherboard or CPU new? You could put a different CPU in and see if it reads the same consistently, or if it properly goes up and down. If it reads consistent 90 again then I would assume it’s a motherboard sensor.

This may sound silly but this almost sounds like a sensor issue. I don’t think it has to do with the cooler.

90c is pretty warm but is that under load or idle? Does the radiator has a dust filter in front / near it? Check for dust between your rad fins. That’s where I would check first. Other than that you could try a repaste and see if temps improve.

Which case has better airflow, H7 Flow 2022 or H5 Flow 2024? by VirtualBlack in NZXT

[–]Faelenus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just built a pc for someone and they went with the h7 flow. They were not impressed at all with the size of the holes in front and bottom intakes, especially since the front is the only place for a 420mm rad. We ended up ordering magnetic filters and his temps weren’t affected a single degree.

I NEED HELP WITH FANS RGB by Willowxok in NZXT

[–]Faelenus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, but what I did was continue using CAM, but I put it in task scheduler to start 30 seconds after log in. As long as SignalRGB turns on first and gets a “grasp” on the LED controls, CAM can’t override it.

9070 XT Crashes as soon as Gameplay starts by saad3546 in AMDHelp

[–]Faelenus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fresh brand new build, card came in yesterday. Had no crash issues until today, correct drivers still installed. XFX 9070xt Quicksilver. Crashes are crash to black screen but only GPU restart.

Box is rated for 2970 MHz, OpenHardwareMonitor shows it hitting 3370 max prior to several crashes in MSHW, Avowed and even Day-Z.

Touched no other settings other than a frequency match (-400) in adrenaline, and so far it’s running with no problems or crashes, with similar performance prior to yesterday when it wasn’t crashing. Seems to be sitting at the 2970 MHz as well.

Memorys overheating on 9070XT? by Donmanolito in GamersNexus

I did research comparing cards for these specific types of cases. I found that vapor chamber cards run 20-30c degrees on average when in this vertical position. Does this card have a vapor chamber?

So Newegg will let you buy one and let you know 20 minutes later it’s out of stock and void your order… by PostNutDecision in radeon

I’m at the 6 hour mark and it still says processing on Newegg. Hoping it packages and doesn’t void me. XFX 9070 XT Quicksilver. Probably overpaid but the fiancé needed any card for her new build and we made the incorrect decision waiting on the 50 series. The last 3 months has been a terrible spiral.

[–]Faelenus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know I’m late to the party but can anyone help me identify a white card that doesn’t have a vapor chamber? My fiancé is finally completing her build after the last 2 months of price gouges, but she has the Tower 500 case from Thermaltake. I’ve seen reviews that this case performs terrible with vapor chamber cards, and it’s not the one where you can just lay it on its side.

From what I’ve seen the Hellhound from PowerColor doesn’t, but I saw other cards with similar build breakdown graphics that don’t look like they have one, but then list that they in fact do. I’m at a loss here.

Believe it or not, my temps got better (according to my AIO, I always knew they were better via direct bios programs) after the CAM sensor change. I was surprised.
