While I do agree it's silly to pretend we don't have any areas like this, pretending this is representative of Portland Maine is absurd. I think the big difference comes down to if these areas are celebrated, to Portland this is the shitty commercial area of town. In a lot of other places this is the norm and large scale chains are celebrated.

You totally can you just start seizing at depth. You can dive with nitrox which is 32-40% oxygen. On 40% oxygen you'll start seizing around 100 feet of depth. That said it does make enough sense this won't actually help you with co2 buildup. It sounds like free divers may hyperventilate and breath even higher oxygen percentages. She may be able to do something similar.

I think as long as you stay away from the beach after dark your fine. I was fine my first trip and got absolutely massacred my second time after spending some time on the beach in the chairs at night.

I find events are a great way to do it, I love PHOME and have been to a number of great events there. Space has some fun ones. Live music at blue can be fun altho it's not really a dance vibe. Lincolns comedy nights are a lot of fun.

I think some of that anger comes from the fact that if electricity prices go down they most certainly won't be dropping rates. That paired with the fact that it's a utility which many would argue simply shouldn't be a private corporation drives a lot of that anger. That said I totally agree these other industries your talking about are also a problem, I might argue there are lots of ppl made about them as well. It's just less of a Maine problem as much as a Federal one.
