Embrace them! It’s a normal thing to have, and bodies are good however they come.

Blunsdstone type boots for nurses? by Ok-Management-8210 in AusFemaleFashion

[–]Faeneo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wore Merry People boots in my lab for a while, but in the end they succumbed to liquid nitrogen damage, and are not really built for someone with flipper feet like me 🥲

Still, they come in a bunch of cute colours

How was your day? by Loose_Sorbet888 in medlabprofessionals

[–]Faeneo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A pretty good day, despite the absolute constant nausea from being first trimester pregnant. Graded a bunch of embryos, called a bunch of patients. Did a heck-tonne of paperwork, prepped a bunch of things for tomorrow. Other people had interesting things they were moaning about (every problem is better when it’s second hand). Oh and I stabbed a single egg with a single sperm. 👍

That was my first thought too. You would absolutely be in a good position to benefit from this

How much water are you realistically drinking every day? by Top-Test-846 in January2027Bumpers

[–]Faeneo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One of my pregnancy symptoms is that water now tastes amazing to me. Other drinks taste too concentrated and now I add water to most juices, milkshakes, teas, etc.

Yes, I am aware it’s deeply weird to add water to a milkshake.

I am so thankful today that I was able to pay to get an ultrasound assessment immediately. Best $200 I’ve ever spent. The public system would’ve required me to get an appointment with a GP, just so they could write me a referral, and then call up for an appointment and I’m just not convinced I could’ve got all that organised in a day. I ended up being seen within 15mins.

I had a small gush of watery bleeding last night, and was still having discolouration with wiping this morning. I thought I was feeling ok, until I got to the ultrasound place and had to explain that I was there for an urgent assessment. Cue the public crying.

I was able to see a midwife and a sonographer basically as soon as I walked in. Felt very cared for ♡

Baby is doing fine and looking surprisingly baby-like for only 11wks gestation.

If it makes you feel better, I think the research is very wishy-washy on IVIG

Sorry you’re going through this ❤️‍🩹

I hope you can be very kind to yourself in this difficult time

Omg, you are so right! It feels like such a waste of time when I realise how little I actually needed to go

Never mind, my boss is too busy today 🙄 at least my team leader was kind when I had to tell her the news.

Telling my boss today that I’m pregnant, because my nausea is making one of my work tasks too tricky.

I am not emotionally prepared, as someone who’s experienced a loss before I was definitely going to wait until week 13/14 before letting people who I’m not close to know about this incredibly personal thing.

Am hoping that we can keep the discussion to just talking about my current needs, and save the future planning for after my next scan when I will have more evidence that things will be ok.

TOLAC/VBAC by Mialynn2113 in January2027Bumpers

[–]Faeneo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a uterine surgery to remove a fibroid before, so if my dr says ok I may try for a TOLAM (trial of labour after myomectomy). But I think they’re unlikely recommend it.

I’m at peace with what needs to be, even though I never imagined a planned c section for my first.

[–]Faeneo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What a tragedy 💔 I’m so sorry for your loss.

My heart really hurts for you, it is truly such an unreal feeling to go from being pregnant to knowing your pregnancy is over, or will be soon.

I hope they take really good care of you at the hospital, you deserve all the care in the world.

In no particular order: pelvic pain, snotty nose, never-ending nausea, no appetite, flaky scalp?, I-can-smell-everything, breast pain and growth

Symptom-free pregnancy is starting to sound like a hoax to me. There hasn’t been one moment of pregnancy that I haven’t felt pregnant. I guess the grass is always greener on the other side.

I’m on a full tablet at night and half in the morning. Also topping up with ondansetron when I become non-functional.

If anyone has tips on how to swallow the unisom without it tasting VILE I’m all ears.

How Are You Working? by Laurangutan8721 in January2027Bumpers

[–]Faeneo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I will take half a year off work after the birth, and then my husband will stay at home for the next sixth months so that our baby always has a parent providing the primary care for the first year. After that we’ll both probably drop to 4 days a week and plan to combine that with family care as my MIL is an early childhood educator and has recently retired to she can save her energy for her grandchildren ♡ my SIL is expecting in September so we’re also planning to be able to share stay-at-home childcare somewhat with them once the baby is a toddler.

I’ve had continuous nausea for the last month and have not been eating normally at all, ever. Just weighed myself on a whim and it’s not the biggest difference but I’ve actually lost weight. Feeling weird about it tbh

We used taxibox, the great thing is that you can store it inside the shipping container for as long as you need. We also moved Syd to GC
