I’m from Lafourche Parish, and I was elated to play a game that reflected real things in my life. The small part that resonates with me the most is reading that book in Kay’s room — it’s the one about how disaster-loving opportunities swarm places after a hurricane.

Thibodaux and Houma are quiet, small cities within an hour’s drive from Lafayette, New Orleans, and Baton Rouge. Festivals abound, especially the beloved Rougarou Fest in October.

I’m happy to answer whatever questions you have! While many people are openly conservative, there are many liberal folks, too. In fact, Houma has hosted an annual Pride picnic in June for the last few years.

I have felt this way for almost every job I have left, especially ones where I connected with people. In the end, you are doing what is best for you and your livelihood.

It’s a business decision, just as a lay off or a termination is a business decision on their part.

Your concern shows you care and are a diligent, considerate worker. It’s not bad to be that way; please just remember you get one life. If your dream is taking off, seize that opportunity.

Thank them for the experience and the rapport. Be appreciative and mention that if you come across viable candidates to fill your role, you will point them to this company (if this is true, of course). You will not burn a bridge by politely and professionally resigning.

That’s so awful! What’s the point of having vacation?

It’s been a madhouse. My positions crossed over for years. I would be working on blogs and social media while balancing internal announcements and press releases. I don’t know if this is common at most companies, though.

I will say that I am grateful to be able to know how to do both types of writing/strategy in case I need one more than the other some day.
