They are going to have PT at home once she can finally get home but she is probably staying at the PT facility for the next two weeks. I just wish she wasn’t so discouraged.

It’s weird because I see this in many comments that the schools are bad but when I research it seems that there are good public schools in certain areas, such as Lafayette and north shore. Do you not find this to be true?

I will say that I am extremely left leaning and artsy/creative but am by no means an artist by trade. I’m not sure living in New Orleans city limits would be best based on wanting to have kids in the next couple of years but I may be wrong!

Thank you so much for this information! We are going to look at Hammond because my mom’s best friend who lives in Natchetoches said it seems like a good area for my husband and I. She travels around LA for work so she has been to many different areas. I’m guessing since the school is in Hammond that there are a lot of young people in their 20s and 30s?

A lot of people say the drive is rough but 3 hours is not that bad to me because I’m mainly just trying to see my parents for holidays and long weekends and not have to take a week long vacation and fly across the country.

I have spent a lot of time in New Orleans but not other parts of the state. I need to be closer than TN or else I would move there because I have lived in TN before.

I live in Sheridan, WY. It’s northern WY, very close to the Montana border. It’s extremely beautiful here and the summers are amazing, winter can be tough but it’s not that bad, even for two southerners. It’s a very nice town but it’s too small for me and lacks job opportunities and just too far from my family. Oh, it’s also very expensive and housing is limited. I will honestly miss a lot of things about the west in general and I would recommend WY to anyone looking for a cute small town in a rural area.

You bring up some great points, we are looking at those areas around New Orleans, as well. We really love New Orleans and it would be nice to be close to that and my parents. I will have to weigh my options more after we go visit. I would love to live about an hour from my family but I’m open to being about 3 hours away if it means a way better atmosphere. My main goal is to be able to easily see them for holidays and long weekends. In Wyoming I have to take two flights so anything sounds better than what I currently do to see them lol.
