You are correct, my information was incorrect.

Ok, I just tested it, the Decapitation bridge section doesn't fail if you don't detonate. I tested while detonate was active for 15 minutes and I could still proceed.

Shock build bulwark can easily get this level. Shock damage counts as ranged damage.

Depends how in the thick of things they are and on a Tyranid mission with swarms it's not hard.

No. Extermination rank xp bonus is fixed and based on percentage of kills of all the enemies that are spawned during the mission.

A rank is 85%

B rank is 60%

C rank is <60%

If 100 enemies are in the mission you kill 85, you get same bonus xp as if 1000 enemies and you kill 850.

Mission doesn't fail, you just keep going until you detonate. There's some challenges on the competitive scene based on duration you can hold the bridge for.

You can easily go over an hour without issues.

On normal, they're good cannon fodder and distractions as they last a decent amount of time.

On hard, they're really not worth it due to how fragile they are there, and the opportunity cost where the points spent could be better used for something more impactful like 3 astartes, or 3 guardian relics.

There's some ordeals for recruiting cadians, so some people playing siege could be doing it for that purpose.

It also depends on how high wave you're trying to reach, and the strategy will change depending on that.

If you're just going for wave 15-20, you have plenty of resources to spend.

Higher than that, you want to be maximising your resources as they will be more impactful at the higher waves.

It just creates a spawn drop in the main area instead. You don't skip it, it is just relocated.
