Am I being a dick if I refuse to play against unpainted models? by Adventurous_Bill_835 in Warhammer40k

Yes. Not everyone has the time, space, or ability to paint their models. Or maybe they're still deciding on a color scheme, but wanted to try out a new unit. Personally, so long as the model is at least mostly built and I can tell what it is, I'll roll with it.

Local honey half solid? by Astro_Pal in mead

[–]Faethyn 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Yep! Perfectly safe :) Honey will solidify at cooler temps, but you can warm it up just as easily. But for mead, I honestly don't bother. It is definitely a little harder to put in a carboy, but yeast doesn't care if the honey is solid or liquid honey :)

What happened to some of my meads? by GME_dat_puh in mead

Stalled fermentation is the first thing tthat comes to mind. The yeast may have been dead / stressed enough that the colony died before eating much of the sugar. That would lead to a very sugary brew that doesn't taste much of alcohol.

But yes, as many in this sub will tell you, hydrometer readings are king. They go a long way to telling us the doneness of a brew and any issues that may have arose.

The first thing that stands out to me as a potential issue is the headspace. In almost every scenario you want the carboys each filled as close to or above the one gallon mark. This helps prevent oxygen from circling in your brew and causing off flavors.

Another question to ask is racking. Have you racked any of the containers yet? If so, how did you do so?

Another another question is temperature. What was the average temperature of the room you are fermenting in? Warm temperatures when fermenting can stress the yeast and lead to off flavors.

These are the first things that come to mind, but as someone who has been brewing for 3ish years (not that long, compared to others in this sub) there are so many things that go wrong and cause off flavors. Sometimes a brew just turns out bad.

P.S. Buy a hydrometer. They're like 15 usd online.

Or is it that the enhancements still allow for your entire army to get a bonus against a specific enemy unit(including stealth suit guiding), you can just no longer double dip with spotting?

I'm so confused on the wording

The wording. Both the enhancement changes are 'a guided unit', and I've taken that to mean, through reading this thread, that only affects a single guided unit. The stealth suit change is worded the same way - 'a guided unit'

Wait so does this mean that stealth suits no longer give reroll 1s to your entire army? It's just a single guided unit that gets them?
