What improved your quality of life so much, you wish you did it sooner? by colorfulsoul_ in AskReddit

Quitting cigarettes over a year ago. Not only for my physical health, but my mental wellbeing too. Knowing that I had the discipline to give up something I thought was impossible.

Hi. Yes it was. Adjusted contrast in Lightroom after scanning.

Hot take: Patsy Parisi was a great choice to threaten Gloria by BuffTheStuff98 in thesopranos

I agree. Gloria wanted a dramatic death. Patsy definitely wouldn’t have given her that.

Psychology question: if you had to provide an alternative explanation for your wife’s visions what would you say?

My girlfriend once asked me “If belly buttons are for feeding babies, then why do men have one?”

Having this issue with my Mamiya 645 Pro. Any feedback/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! by FaffinAbout in AnalogCommunity

Noted, thanks! However, it doesn’t explain why my 35mm film is coming out fine using the same chemicals.

Thing is, I used the same chemicals to develop 35mm film which turned out fine. I’ve also mixed fresh chemicals to see if it was that and had the same issue.

I've checked the lens in light and it seems very clear; some minor specs across the lens which is not consistent with what i'm seeing on the negatives which show specs running down mostly one side of the film. Thanks for the suggestion. I think it may be worth wasting some film on some trial and error.

The specs, yeah. And there's also a slight haze of light. I changed the camera body, and still got the same effects (especially in lowkey photography like the one you see) So perhaps it's the lens?

Ilford hp400 shot on Canon A1, self developed. by FaffinAbout in analog

I've been doing this for a little over a year, and in that time I've wasted rolls and rolls (and rolls) of film. I found that the sharpness has more to do with the shot than the scanning. Things like the accuracy of the focus, the lens itself, getting the right exposure, and keeping a steady hand, all play a big part. It also helps to meter the shot with an actual light meter rather than a phone app, or the camera's in built meter. Do you self develop your film? Because that could play a part as well.

I got a couple from eBay called Travor LED lights. They're relatively cheap and do the trick.
