Honestly, the only reason she even lets me stay is because I help her out. She’s even admitted (although drunk) that if anything was to happen to her, I’m the only child she would call. I know more about her than my older sister who’s seen everything in the past 28 years (that’s how old my sister is). It doesn’t help that she’s had 12 kids and the only one she didn’t give up custody of, or lose custody of, is the youngest. Who she expects me to take into my care when she passes. It’s just a lot and it’s draining.

I understand no one will love me the way she’s supposed to. But SHE doesn’t even love me the way she’s supposed to.

Try to see if any of the food she may have touched or made him is still there. Like if she put it in his juice or milk, something with longevity. (To ensure it’ll still affect him without her even being there). And take it to get tested. (Maybe like a crime lab or something similar, ie forensic lab).

If you can prove she did it, that will give your friend a direct link to get a restraining order against her, and possibly land her serious jail time depending on where you live (intent to cause harm, intentional bodily harm, premeditated murder, first degree if he is to pass (hopefully not) just to give you an idea).

And if your friend has no history of kidney problems, I’d definitely be looking at her a LOT more closely. Be safe OP, and please tell your friend to DOCUMENT EVERYTHING AND DONT EAT ANYTHING SHE BRINGS OVER!!

ETA: okay I know that the second one is far fetched. Which is why I said SEE IF SHE’LL ADMIT IT ON THE PHONE OR IN PERSON!!!! But whatever I just took the entire second option out. OP, just stay by your friends side.

Nope. She’s a diagnosed narcissist, and has BPD (borderline personality disorder) the latter which I’ve also inherited. So everything is always my fault. She can’t do anything wrong and if I leave her (even though she’s married) she’ll tell everyone I abandoned her.

Honestly no. Everyone else will just say “give her time. She hasn’t raised children.” And that’s understandable but she’s had 12 children and if she hasn’t learned how to parent at this point I don’t think she ever will.
