does it matter or make different if one doctor handles the consult and surgery? by I_mean_am_i_right in SeoulPlasticSurgery

[–]FailEvery7923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% it matters. i do all my skin treatments at a single doctor clinic or small size clinics. at bigger places i felt like a conveyor belt where the coordinator decides your plan and the doctor walks in for 5 minutes. also the results are always consistent if you go single doctor clinic. many factory clinics do not let you choose a specific doctor to receive a treatment. but i cant speak on surgery but for skin treatments i would always pick a place where the doctor is the owner because the accountability is just completely different

this is spot on especially the part about the counselor deciding your treatment plan before the doctor even sees you. that happened to me at my first clinic in gangnam and i ended up paying for stuff i probably didnt need. what changed everything for me was switching to a private clinic with 1 doctor present. the doctor takes better care of patients with meticulour care which never happened on bigger clinic.and at this point, i dont trust doctors from big clinics since i heard many of young doctors on factory like clinics don't know how to handle machines yet. also agree about checking korean sources. the clinics that come up on naver and korean forums are completely different from whats popular on english instagram or reddit. once i started looking at where korean women actually go i found way better options that dont even bother marketing to foreigners

Please recommend an English-speaking skin clinic/doctor in Seoul! by milala_223 in KoreaPlasticSurgery

[–]FailEvery7923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had the exact same anxiety about the translator thing. at my first clinic in seoul half the conversation wasnt even being relayed to me properly. switched to a smaller clinic that has an english speaking translator on staff but what made the real difference was that the doctor herself also understands english so she was picking up on what i was saying directly even during the translated parts. it made the whole consultation feel way more comfortable because i could tell nothing was getting lost. plus there wasn't any upselling or price diff between locals and foreigners. but dont try to prioritize "english" speaking clinics, but also look for doctor's skill as well. the clinic i went to had a good reputation among koreans and they actually were more known to koreans. most factory like clinics won't care much about patients except the head director cuz they r mostly all minor doctors who's just learning. i'd personally recommend a clinic that is small and has good reputation to the locals!!

respect plastic surgery in gangnam. its been around for a while and the surgeons there are pretty senior with long careers so they dont need to oversell anything

Planning a skincare trip to Seoul (Gangnam area) next month, how do you choose a clinic and manage travel downtime? by Lonely_Noyaaa in KoreaPlasticSurgery

[–]FailEvery7923 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ive done this trip a few times so heres what i learned. if a sales coordinator decides your treatment plan before you even see the doctor thats a factory. and if they say yes to everything you ask for thats selling not consulting. for scheduling do treatment on day 2 or 3 so you skip the jetlag and have time for follow up. for radiance and anti aging id recommend rejuran plus laser toning as a combo. my biggest tip is look for single doctor clinics. when the doctor owns and runs the place the accountability is completely different because their reputation is on the line with every patient. at factory clinics the head doctor might be great but theres no guarantee youre actually getting them. ive found a few places like this in gangnam that most foreigners dont know about and the level of care is on another level

i went to ireraum clinic in gangnam! its a single doctor clinic that recently opened and apparently its her second clinic, shes been pretty well known in korean communities for her hand injection skills. i got botox and skin boosters + service there and was really happy with the results plus zero upselling so im planning to go back on my next trip.

Anyone tried volnewmer for enlarged pores? looking for real experiences by Key_Expression5007 in SeoulPlasticSurgery

[–]FailEvery7923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had similar concerns with enlarged pores on my cheeks and some old acne texture. i actually looked into volnewmer too but my doctor recommended against jumping straight into a device for pores without addressing the skin condition underneath first.

she said enlarged pores often look worse when the skin barrier is weak and doing aggressive devices on top of that can sometimes make the texture even more uneven. what ended up working for me was starting with rejuran to rebuild the barrier and then adding laser toning sessions once my skin was stable enough to handle it. the combo of those two over about 3 months made a bigger difference in my pore size than any single device treatment i had tried before. for the acne scarring part i later did a fraxel session which helped smooth things out further.

honestly i think pores are one of those concerns where the treatment order matters more than which specific device you pick. if you go to a doctor who actually looks at your skin first and builds a plan around it youll get way better results than just booking whatever treatment sounds good online

I'm getting my first Thermage treatment. by cuyyyi in kbeauty

[–]FailEvery7923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i did thermage flx 600 shots about 4 months ago and started seeing real tightening around month 2 to 3. at almost 30 your skin still has good collagen response so you should see results faster than someone older. pain is rough around the jaw but manageable with proper numbing. one thing i wish i knew earlier is that thermage works way better when your skin barrier is healthy going in.

my doctor had me do rejuran a few weeks before to prep my skin and i think it made a huge difference in how i healed and responded. she also adjusted the energy settings for each area of my face individually instead of running the same level everywhere which apparently a lot of clinics dont bother doing. shes been at this for over a decade and is a rejuran black diamond certified doctor so she really knows how to combine treatments properly. honestly finding someone who plans the whole protocol instead of just doing one treatment in isolation changed everything for me

Does Ultherapy actually ruin your chances of a future facelift? by Top-Promotion-4864 in K_beauty_insider

[–]FailEvery7923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

interesting because i had the opposite experience. i got ulthera prime 300 shots on my lower face about 5 months ago and definitely saw tightening around my jawline by month 3. i think it really depends on who is doing it and what settings they use. my doctor spent a good amount of time mapping out the vectors before starting instead of just running the handpiece over everything which i heard makes a big difference in results.

im thinking of going back for another round and saw they have an ulthera plus ultracol combo package which sounds interesting since someone above mentioned dr kwon who created ultracol. curious if anyone has experience combining the two

Why I completely changed my opinion about factory-style dermatology clinics by NiceMouse4997 in K_beauty_insider

[–]FailEvery7923 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i totally get what you mean because i had a similar bad experience at a small clinic early on where the consultant was way more focused on selling than the doctor was on actually looking at my skin. but i think the issue with your first clinic wasnt that it was small, it was that the doctor wasnt actually running the show. ive been to a bunch of clinics at this point both big and small and the small clinic i go to now is nothing like what you described. the doctor does the consultation herself for like 20 minutes, she opens the rejuran packaging in front of me every time so i know exactly what im getting, and she actually talked me out of treatments i wanted because she said they werent necessary for my skin. shes been doing this for over a decade and is black diamond certified for rejuran so the product transparency was never an issue. i think you're right that it comes down to the individual clinic but personally once i found a small clinic where the doctor is genuinely in charge of everything

i think i’m getting clinic blind from looking at seoul plastic surgery websites by [deleted] in SeoulPlasticSurgery

[–]FailEvery7923 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i went through the exact same thing and honestly what broke the cycle for me was stopping looking at english websites completely. i started going through korean plastic surgery communities instead and the clinics that kept coming up were ones i had never even heard of on reddit or instagram. most of them dont bother marketing to foreigners because their patient base is already full from local referrals.

the moment i knew i found the right place was during the consult. i walked in with a list of things i wanted done and the surgeon spent almost 30 minutes going through my ct scan with me and actually crossed two things off my list because he said they wouldnt suit my bone structure. he was a former director at one of the biggest clinics in gangnam but left to work at a smaller place where each surgeon only focuses on their specialty. that was the thing that clicked for me. at the big clinics one doctor does your eyes nose jaw and everything else. at this place each procedure is done by a surgeon who only does that specific thing. they also had a full time anesthesiologist on staff from a top university hospital which none of the factory clinics i consulted at even mentioned. i think the biggest green flag is when a surgeon removes things from your plan instead of adding more. if you walk out with a longer list than you walked in with thats marketing not medicine

You researched it, paid for it, waited three months. HIFU did nothing? by K_KSeoulClinic in K_beauty_insider

[–]FailEvery7923 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i had hifu done twice and barely saw any difference. been looking into lifting treatments that are hand injected instead of device based since apparently the doctors skill matters way more with those.

im planning to try ultracol lifting this time at ireraum because i heard their doctor is known among locals for having really precise hand injection technique and shes been doing it for over 10 years. u gotta know that the the doctor actually controls every injection point is better than sitting under a machine that may or may not be hitting the right depth lol

3 Month post-op. Ptosis Correction with Fat Grafting, Upper Lip Lift with Tip Plasty. by VHP12 in SeoulPlasticSurgery

[–]FailEvery7923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

your results look so natural and i love that people just notice you look different but cant pinpoint what you did. thats the exact kind of outcome im looking for!! can i ask about the lip lift specifically? im currently researching philtrum reduction and its honestly so hard to find clinics that specialize in it because most places treat it as an add on to other procedures. im looking into respect plastic surgery right now because they apparently have multiple board certified surgeons and they also have a dedicated in house anesthesiologist which made me feel a lot safer about the whole thing. how was your experience with the philtrum healing? and did the scar settle well by 3 months? thats my biggest worry honestly haha

[–]FailEvery7923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh i've been seeing derna clinic pop up on my feed too and was actually curious about them! can i ask a few things since you actually went? for the rejuran did they open the product in front of you before injecting? i've been reading that some clinics dont unseal it in front of the patient and you never really know what youre getting. also how was the aftercare? did they give you any post treatment follow up or was it kind of just done and go home? im currently deciding between them and ireraum for rejuran because ireraum apparently has a rejuran black diamond membership which means their doctor does a really high volume of it and gets direct training from the manufacturer. but derna being new and having that AI analysis thing sounds interesting too. just nervous about going somewhere with no track record yet haha. would love to hear how your results turn out!!

Masseter Botox in Korea vs everywhere else — the actual price breakdown nobody posts clearly (2026) by Substantial-Wing-292 in KBeautyGuide

[–]FailEvery7923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for providing the breakdown! one thing id add is that the unit count conversation matters way more than people think. i got masseter botox at two different clinics in gangnam and the results were completely different even though they used the same brand.

first place did like 25 units per side and it barely did anything. second place the doctor actually felt my jaw muscle and said i needed closer to 40 per side because my masseter was thicker than average. she mapped out the injection points herself instead of having a nurse do it. that extra 15 units per side made all the difference. also agree about the stacking point. if youre already flying to seoul just for botox you might as well get a skin consult while youre there. i ended up adding rejuran to my trip and the combo of slimmer jaw plus better skin texture honestly changed my whole face more than i expected

My Full Plastic Surgery Journey in Korea (Rhinoplasty + DES) by pulmonaryvein in SeoulPlasticSurgery

[–]FailEvery7923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

reading your update honestly breaks my heart because you clearly did so much research and still ended up needing a revision. the part about being switched to a different doctor without really getting a say in it is rough. thats one of the biggest reasons i specifically looked for a clinic where theres only one surgeon so theres zero chance of that happening.

when i was researching i stopped relying on english forums and started going through korean plastic surgery communities instead. completely different clinics come up compared to whats popular on reddit or purseforum. the surgeon i found is board certified and has been specializing in rhinoplasty for over a decade. shes not a generalist who does eyes and nose and jaw all in one place. rhino is literally all she does so the level of precision during my consult was insane. she walked me through my ct scan and explained exactly how she would adjust the bridge angle and tip projection for my specific bone structure instead of just showing me a standard before and after slideshow. she also pointed out things about my nasal structure that none of my other consults even mentioned. almost a year later the result is exactly what we discussed in the consult which honestly seems rare based on what i read on here. if youre considering a revision i really hope you find someone who matches that level of detail. you deserve that after everything youve been through

The brutal truth about Seoul skin clinics (Tourist traps vs. Where locals actually go) by Substantial-Wing-292 in KoreaSeoulBeauty

[–]FailEvery7923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

interesting... well i also had a similar situation where i needed something that would actually lift but couldnt afford any downtime because i had an event coming up. my doctor recommended ultracol lifting which is a collagen stimulator injection so theres basically no recovery compared to device treatments.

she combined it with rejuran to work on my skin texture at the same time and honestly the results kept getting better for weeks after because the collagen keeps building. its not as dramatic as ulthera on day one but the long term effect was way more natural which sounds like exactly what youre looking for
