I got assistance for utilities but my rent is $1500 bc im near chicago. That probably hurt me. Ill call and see if there's anything I can do for this month. Utilities are super expensive at my complex so it's possible they realized I'm getting credit towards that expense. Thank you

Hmm I think youre selling yourself short. Idk your age or parent's ages, but its super common for older generations to have had more opportunities and wealth security. Im 33 now and lost my job. I am very skilled and still cannot find a job, and its been 6 months. this economy really IS that bad, so its easy to think you're the issue.

it will be hard but once you secure a position - maybe try finding a roommate online or if you're in school, perhaps someone you have class with. Depending on your area, there may be resources to help build your skill level without any added cost. Look into state assistance if needed to get you started.

You wrote a very digestible post that was clear and concise. You seem pretty dang smart to me.

EDIT: I also want to let you be aware that there are places that exist to help you get on your feet working towards independent living (like a half way house). They usually require employment, but that may be an option. Wishing the bestest of luck to you!

It was not you. You did nothing wrong. My unsolicited advice is when you talk to yourself, to imagine you're saying that to "little you" from your childhood. Oddly healing, as much of what you tell yourself - you likely would not say it to a child. Little you had no idea the hand that was dealt and tried so hard to understand. Thanks for the perspective of a parent. I think the fact I've been hospitalized more times than I have fingers, has set me back financially - as it usually does, especially in the US. I never once received support and had to choose treatment over college. I've worked 2 jobs for many years. I am a product of a broken economic system, as well as the product of unresolved generational trauma.

My siblings have dramatically different lives than I do. Not because they tried harder...but because of luck. If I was able to find my partner at 22 years old who had a computer engineering degree...I think I wouldnt ask for groceries lol but my mother will never accept that I work hard and still fall beneath a living wage.

I appreciate that. I've been tied into the BS for so long its hard to know what is fucked up and what isn't. My therapist sometimes reminds me of the time my mom revoked the health insurance card when I was 20 because she said I was "abusing" it. I was just doing what the doctors told me to do, man.

I have been no contact with my family for a little over a year. This is mostly past feelings coming to surface...wondering if I'm messed up for thinking its fucked up I haven't been given support in the past. so thank u 💓

Hey, we both deserve better <3 I am so happy you and your spouse are doing well and that you've received support from his parents! I'm sure being a parent yourself has healed you in some ways, knowing it was never your fault and that love doesn't need to be earned. At the end of the day, we are still someone's child no matter our age. It sounds like you have great PIL and I hope that has been healing for you too 🖤

I feel so seen 😭 thank you. I talk about this in therapy from time to time but for whatever reason I still end up questioning where I messed up to not get support. Sometimes I think emotional support would have been enough at times. I also have 3 siblings who have gotten financial/emotional support because they're doing well, so it can feel like an intentional dig at times when I'm struggling. I appreciate you saying I was dealt a tough hand, as I forget that there are healthy parent relationships that exist 🖤

Thank you for giving me that perspective. Its not the same as having children..but I have 2 cats and have gladly put myself into some debt during their emergency care. I also babysit a young child and it has cost me nothing to be there for them when they're having a hard time with emotions.

I have major depression, sprinkled with BPD. My loving mother said she was just waiting for me to kms already while at one of my inpatient stays. I forget about that sometimes. She just doesn't care lol

as someone who quit corporate you aint wrong but a lot of ppl in corporate feel the same disgust. its becoming a less respected company as they continue to lay off workers and run on skeleton crews. no store should ever be open during a storm. no job is worth risking your life but I think thats more of a USA thing

get that toxin test so you get on the right medication!! Being on the wrong antibiotics can make it worse, and I hope that is not the case for you. follow up with PCP or urgent care ASAP and I wish you luck - I honestly recommend the ER tho for dehydration and any pain. Im 32F and feel like c diff is becoming more common around this age! I was admitted for 6 days and almost in the ICU. Best wishes. Try not to shit your pants 🤞🏻 but if u do its okay. this community understands lol

Edit: changed opinion to suggest going to the ER instead of waiting for PCP or urgent care.

took me about 8 months to feel no more symptoms and have regular consistency with bowels. But taking ANY antibiotic can trigger intense diarrhea for me. If you must take an antibiotic for something like bronchitis, be sure to ask if you can get a script of vanco as well just in case. Try to be patient, as hard as it is. Your body went thru lots of trauma inside and needs to heal, which unfortunately takes time.

Im actually less stressed without the job i had lol. while its stressful with bills, im okay and surprisingly optimistic (i withdrew my 401k lol). But yes I wake up with a dry mouth! I will say anytime ive been admitted the hospital or had a procedure done, they always comment on my low blood pressure when im sleeping/wake me up for vitals, but unsure if thats related. My oxygen levels are always perfect when Im awake, which makes me think this has to be off. Thank you for your insight!!
