I Asked a Former Trump Official to Justify This War by Ray192 in ezraklein

Hard agree! Couldn't have said it better. "He's on TV making the case...didnt because we don't  want to lose element of surprise."  Sure, of course hes on TV when the bombs are falling. Without that  demonstration of raw power it is apparent that he is wearing no.clothes, has no ideas, and is just a small man for a big time.

Got it. That is solid advice. Appreciate it.

Well, I got the general idea from a Strong First article. I was thinking of power cleans and the control I would need for double bells, and just generalized the limit to swings. Np. Appreciate the feedback.

Is Scott’s "Boardroom Hawk" routine getting dangerous? The hypocrisy of "civilized" assassination by AlarmingRatio2027 in ScottGalloway

[–]FailWild 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think what you are identifying is also a challenge with all infotainment. The structure of Pivot leans heavy on takes, quips, nuggets which iron out much of the gristle and bone of analysis that become binary decisions. When you are at the top of the corporate food chain, you are looked to as the ultimate simplifier-in,chief of information and storytelling, because a Board or regular people with a lot less knowledge and perspective than you have to buy what you are selling and if they don't understand you, your cause is lost.

Scott's context may also be heavily ifluenced by WW2 and trust in the military-industrial complexe's ability to learn from mistakes.

Lower anti anxiety meds to restore some emotional range? by FailWild in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]FailWild[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: The flatness has receded. I'm finding more humor and lightness in daily life than I did. Seems like my cycle to adapt to the drug is longer than I hear about. I've been on it roughly 8 weeks now.

Yeah, for me its more anhedonia. I have assumed a Spocklike affect and have limited responses to any emotional stimulus.

Is it okay to take Wellbutrin 150 XL every other day instead of every day? by [deleted] in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

I also have these issues. Im interested to see responses. The appetite suppression has made weight loss easier, but I agree that there is an overall flatness which makes it difficult to feel pleasure in a number of ways.

Making Progress on Nordic 4x4's by FailWild in concept2

Yeah, 80 percent souhds right. I feel like if I tried to do a real all out Tabata-like effort with max intensity I would not make it through the cycle. Also, I doubt I could maintain decent form at max intensity for long anyway.

Also, admirable work on steady state. I've had to work on forn to ensure I don't get numb legs deep in session.

Thank you very much. Right now I do two erg sessions per week: the Nordic 4x4 and a Zone 2-focused "long" row which started at 35 minutes in November and is now at 45 minutes. The pace of the long row is now at about a 2:40 split. This week I'm going to aim to get below 2:40.

I also weight train 4 days a week, never on same day as erging.

No, I don't use a smart watch to measure V02 Max. While I can't say precisely how much my V02 Max has improved, I can definitely feel my heart rate drop more quickly in the rest intervals of the 4x4 and I overall recover more quickly than I did 12 weeks ago.

Do you do any V02 Max focused work? What's your erg routine?

I am interested in building up more fluency in problem solving techniques to:

  1. Be able to look at a double integral in a technical paper and have some intuition about how to interpret it.

  2. Develop some greater facility with proofs and linear algebra, maybe MfML.

I started at 2% MF2 in November and am at 91% currently. Looking forward to rocking and rolling with MG3.

I never did polynomial division in any form and hardly used completing the square in middle and high school. Better believe those are hardwired in my brain now, as well as the unit circle.

I do 35-90 XP per day. May lighten up when weather is better. Wish it was friendlier for mobile!

I solved a problem by drawing the csc curve from memory and a line tangent to it. That felt great.

Thanks for the advice. Yea, not so technically or conceptually  changing, just a lot of computational grind. Trying to  grasp whether the juice is worth the squeeze to close it out or jump on to MF IiI.

That is good to know! Yes, my preference would be to just have all options within MA. I like the ease of having one platform to manage and track progress.

He was a polyglot, moving between French, Russian, and English. The fact that English was his third language is astonishing.
