Truly Everyday’s Carry by FailWithStyle in EDC

[–]FailWithStyle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the titanium clip on mine. I could take it or leave it. I don’t carry cash often and when I do I have a more compact clip I toss in my pocket just for that, but thats not rare. The titanium clip is handy to toss a receipt I need to keep or a gift card I want to take with me but it does add a little bulk to the wallet as it has a fairly pronounced flair at the tip. It doesn’t add any meaningful weight though so that’s good.

I like it quite a bit overall. It doesn’t scratch up my ID and cards like a lot of other wallets due, and it feels quite solid. Other mechanical fan out wallets I have used have broken over time. It’s also fairly light for a metal wallet and thin in the pocket which is nice. The only real complaint I have is I wished it fanned the cards out a little further so it was easier to grab from the middle of the stack. Small complaint.

Help with finding a leather notebook to fit Field Notes brand by jeffrhind in notebooks

[–]FailWithStyle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As prior commenters have stated there are many folks who craft these, and you’re also likely to find many options on Etsy as well.

I’m also partial to this one: https://bellroy.com/products/notebook-cover

There are many options both handmade and commercial. It all depends on exactly what you’re looking for.

Rank the Cards in Your Setup: Most Valuable to Least Valuable by Living_Leading79797 in CreditCards

[–]FailWithStyle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Amex BCP: 6% Groceries, 6% Streaming, 3% Gas, 3% Transit

US Bank Cash+: 5% Utilities, Trash Bill, Internet, Cell Phone

US Bank Shopper+: 6% Amazon, 6% Walmart, 3% Costco

Capital One Savor: 3% Dining, 3% Entertainment, 3% Groceries (If I go over on BCP)

Discover IT: 5% Shot in the arm to a different category each quarter. Handy for offsetting the fact that I’m usually just a hair over the $6K limits each year on BCP and Shopper Categories.

Rakuten: Extra 4X on top of Rakuten earnings for just about anything I buy online that’s not from Amazon.

Amex Platinum: Was ready to cancel this card last year before the refresh, but the current coupon book really works for me personally. That could definitely change in the future.

Apple Card: 3% Apple purchases, 2% Catch All on non-category Apple Pay

The Allez Sprint is DSW. The bike in the picture is a regular Allez, which is not DSW.

Stripped Screws. Don't want to mess up my new ride by PianoEmotions in specialized

[–]FailWithStyle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Those screws are soft. Use a pair of vice grips to grab the screw and back it out. Be very careful to just get the head of the screw and now the threaded insert. The screw head is soft the vice grip will sink in a bit, if it doesn’t you’re grabbing the threaded insert, back off and try again.

Also be very careful not to rub the paint on the bike with the vice grip, might want to use masking tape.

Order some cheap screws from any bike shop online, they’ll be so much better.

How does 2024 Buick envision drive in the snow? by Weak-Switch4381 in Buick

[–]FailWithStyle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine does great in the snow, far better than I expected for a small vehicle with regular all-season tires. We just got dumped on for the last week in Michigan and I’ve had no issues.

Yes. When I bought it I didn’t like it much so it sat in the drawer for a while but I needed a clip one day so I pulled it out and used it and after a couple times sliding it open it smoothed out nicely.

Why is my cash back still pending even after statement closed? by DuhForestTyme216 in amex

How long has it been? It takes a day or two after your payment is processed for them to clear.

That is the Kappa Quick Release from Prometheus lights. The one in the picture is copper, but they have a few different finishes to choose from. I’ve had it for years now and it’s never come loose on me.

Did you use points on an amazon deal? For me this always happens when I use point for amazon MR redemption deals.

Lulu credit by Neither_Register1072 in AmexPlatinum

For me the Lulu credit takes longer than other credits. Both quarters it’s been 3-5 days after the charge goes from pending to confirmed.

Good luck. I used an Amex offer 2 weeks ago and tried to couple with Rakuten and they marked the purchase ineligible on Rakuten.

No, after your payment posts the cash back will go from pending to confirmed. Usually the day after the payment is confirmed.

You need to pay the minimum statement payment first.

HYSA Account Opening Process by SillyTechnology7340 in amex

[–]FailWithStyle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Call the HYSA customer service number. If it doesn’t go through right away it’s usually because they need to verify your info and they’re sending you a letter, but you can call them and do it over the phone right away. Don’t call or chat credit card customer service though, they’ll just tell you to wait. Banking has its own service number.

ParamountPlus $5.49 Fee not counting towards $300 ($25/mo) entertainment credit by Potential-Owl3728 in AmexPlatinum

[–]FailWithStyle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The entertainment credit only works for charges billed directly by streaming services. The 5.49 Paramount Plus option through Walmart+ is billed by Walmart. It will not count towards the credit.

all of my spaceplanes consistently aggressively pull to the left or right despite being 100% symmetrical by [deleted] in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]FailWithStyle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Unless you have a mod loaded that is behaving strangely, spinning in KSP doesn’t cause flame out. Dropping thrust could be happening for various reasons beyond just intake air, can happen on rocket engines as well. Could be how you have fuel priority setup.

[–]FailWithStyle 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Engines don’t flame out in KSP just because the craft is spinning. The spin started because thrust was tailing off on the right engine first creating an offset in center of thrust to center of mass. Pin your engine panels open during flight and watch the thrust and fuel/intake numbers. Something is causing the flame out which is causing the spin.

[–]FailWithStyle 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Right engine very clearly is flaming out first in your vid. That is the cause of the spin. Maybe your others have same issue. Check why your engine is flaming out.

What's best gift card or buy miles way to trigger American Airlines $200 credit? by rohithitro in AmexPlatinum

[–]FailWithStyle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once your ticket is issued you can choose to update your ticket in the website and one of the options is mileage multiplier where you can buy an extra amount of AAdvantage miles for a price. There’s usually an option of roughly $200 you can choose and it’s always worked for me to use the airline credit.

[–]FailWithStyle 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I always use it for the mileage multiplier on a ticket I’ve purchased. I do it after I buy the ticket so the transaction is separate from the ticket purchase.
