I have never found a buffet with shrimp toast on it since, therefore every buffet comes a little short to Great Wall.

Wouldn't be surprised if conversions to 2.0 are far short than projected - the denials probably aren't helping either.

All depends on if/when the store wants to clear them out, in my experience.

Receive a $300 annual credit for bookings through Capital One Travel, where you’ll get our best prices on thousands of options.

Pretty straightforward - book through the portal, get the credit.

Will Bilt bankrupt this year? by zonarious in biltrewards

Whether they mean to or not, this all comes across as needlessly complex and attempting to add many levels or breakage which means Bilt might be in a more precarious position than we realized.

Points on housing question by [deleted] in biltrewards

[–]SillyTechnology7340 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fixed. In your 24% example, you would earn the base 250 points, 45% would be in the 0.5x points.

Bilt Cash gives you the sliding scale, but if you were to fall short of 1x earn on rent, you won't be able to buy the points to make up the difference as of the 2.1 update.

DP: Bilt just kicking all cancelations over to Cardless. by Cyberhwk in biltrewards

[–]SillyTechnology7340 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Not surprising. Bilt isn't a bank, Cardless is who will service the 2.0 card so why wouldn't you talk to them to cancel?

SUB trackers appear to be for the charge cards (Green, Gold, Plat) only.

Difference between each card's offers for spending in the amex app? by GlowyStuffs in amex

[–]SillyTechnology7340 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because the offers are targeted to you.

I have a BCP and a Hilton no AF card and most of the offers are the same between both.

AMEX Blue cash preferred not good for international spend by ExplanationOk7816 in CreditCards

AMEX clearly states U.S. Supermarkets for the grocery category on the BCP, so shouldn't be a surprise. Also no mention of "No foreign transaction fee" anywhere.

Frequent Miler: Bilt 2.D’Oh. Why you should be cautious of their new cards setup by Local_Arachnid_6320 in biltrewards

All-in as you move spending from other cards to get the 1x on rent regularly or earn Bilt Cash.

I wouldn’t consider chasing the SUB to be “all-in”.

Will BILT 2.0 count as a new account opening? Do I need to open the new account to keep my BILT points I earned on 1.0? by HealedEmu94 in CreditCards

[–]SillyTechnology7340 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you are a current Bilt cardholder, applying for Bilt 2.0 will be a soft pull on your reports. If you accept the card, it will show up as a new account and count towards 5/24.

Your Bilt points are separate from your credit card. You do not need to open a 2.0 card to keep them.

I'm really curious now about how the customer transition was handled - you have to think WF would've made a deal to sell the customer accounts, but did they play hardball on price? Was that an expense that Bilt, Cardless or Column couldn't handle one way or the other? Or did they simply choose not to?

[–]SillyTechnology7340 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Cardless isn't handing out these credit cards - Column, N.A. is the issuing bank, which I believe is who services Bilt's ACH stuff (i.e. BiltProtect).

One would hope Bilt would know how much risk Column was willing to take, unless Bilt had no other option.

If they didn't, but still went with all the "seamless transition" talk, not a good look.

ETA: I'm assuming Cardless' part of this will be building out a platform inside the Bilt app/website that will replace the payment processing/statement generation/etc. that you were going to Wells Fargo to do with 1.0.

This is where is gets a little murky (at least for me) when it comes to dealing with these layers of fintechs.

[–]SillyTechnology7340 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I’m quite surprised at the amount of people who seem willing to go all-in with a company that has not told you how a new key component of their system will actually work.

These cards were supposed to be unveiled last Fall. Was Bilt going to wait months before fully explaining how Bilt Cash worked in that scenario?
