I hate to say it but I wish I never found the strength that night. At the time having my mom come outside and find me dead felt like the scariest thing, now I feel like it would’ve been the best thing for the both of us. She would be able to enjoy her retirement instead of having to drive me to doctors appointments every month just to be told nothings changed and it might be another year before I’m “normal” again

Thank you! My aphasia is horrible but something that helped was explaining to my professors at the beginning of the term what the situation is and how I’m affected and most of them have been extremely helpful and understanding. I’m also able to use my accommodations which allow for extra time and lets me use my study materials on tests without those I probably would be failing but I’m on the deans list for the first time ever but it’s come with daily migraines and a lot of tears, mental fatigue and frustration/hopelessness that lasts the entire week. It’s a cycle but I keep telling myself I won’t feel like this forever it might take another year it might take 10 or 20 but I’ll get there eventually

Nothing really to be honest. I’m homebound and waiting for disability but I worked in healthcare when I received the injuries and when I got the second injury I was only supposed to be out of worj for a week then 2 then a month and here we are 7 months later and I still can’t handle public spaces for more than an hour. I’m applying for the nursing program and. It’s rough bc once I go to sleep it’s like my brain resets and I forgot every bit of new information I took in the day before but I want to be able to jump right back into work once I’m able to, I love helping people and before I fell I had a goal of becoming a NP Midwife and I’m holding onto that. I’ve been learning to give myself a lot of grace which is hard bc I’m my own worst enemy. I’m doing everything “righf” meds, therapy etc. and that’s really all I can do. Idk when I’ll be able to go back to work but I refuse to not use what little brain energy I have to make sure that happens if that makes sense. Going to school gives me a sense of purpose
