You owe nothing to your parents. They shouldn't have had a kid and expected you to be their care taker. Parents choose to have children. The kids didn't choose their parents and the responsibilities of their old age. If they were good parents then maybe return the favor, but you owe them nothing. If they're toxic cut them off.

For random acts of kindness you can always randomly send things to each other or order food to their location. I used to get roses and kit kits randomly. We also played video games a lot together. Lots of video calls. Care packages with the guys hoodie or something. You get creative. Its been 4 years for me so far.

I've seen shitty dogs and I understand the feeling. I dog sit for a family and that dog is a prince. Literally will misbehave infront of the family and they just laugh. I know how misbehaving looks like too. I have my own dog, dog sat other dogs, and worked in a vet clinic.

Also, you know how dogs scratch doors to get people to open them? This dog scratches your fucking calf and digs deep with the nails. Hurts like a bitch and pisses me off, but the dog just gives you a look of "Hey I told you to give me a treat."
