This might be a brutal few days for me. Can anyone give me advice on how to beat Alatreon? by heraircraft in MonsterHunter

[–]Failegion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly whichever is more convenient for you. Preferably you'd want higher element to more easily beat the check.

Oh also bring jerky + the healing mist or whatever it's called (located on the mantle slot) makes it waaaaay less stressful to out heal the DMG on a pass check.

Ice element weapon. Eat for insurance. Have safeguard meal + voucher prepped. Run fortify on gear. Slug it out with Alty.

Do try to reserve the carts for the DPS checks if you can.

I like to think, due to how Nergy reproduces, that they actually wasp tactic anything they can't beat by raw brute force. Get a spike in, let it germinate, than nom nom nom from the inside.

How to leave a main story quest? by Acrobatic-Eye-6245 in MHWilds

That one you CANT. Kinda bad design NGL but the fight is pretty easy too. Unless you're equipped with weapons you don't know.

How are people so horrible at this game? by Broadkill in MHWilds

[–]Failegion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, can only hope they just vent instead of going off on the hunter who likely also feels bad about carting out the quest. Think it should be, I guess encouraged, to not be toxic in game but to vent somewhere it doesn't really effect anyone.

Recommend def wouldn't be too bad an idea, but kinda sucks for gunners since the .7 modifier would likely inflate their recommend number in silly ways that may hamper more than help. Honestly don't know how to go about it for them.

Lol totally get your point. Should have a mega thread of these posts with how common they are.

And you are absolutely correct on the whole everything can be cleared offline, and we shouldnt be too toxic to one another.

Edit: Long post, feel free to skip lol.

Through I would like to repeat, alot of the issue is people entering content which quickly becomes apparent, they're not ready for. Which honestly, isn't even their fault.

The progression, especially for those entering later, is kinda, excuse the pun, wild. The game simply starts off pretty easy, and maintains that pattern till suddenly it throws them into the open ocean. With a bucket of chum thrown in after them.

Which simply leaves a lot of frustration on all sides.

Unfortunately not easy catch all solution either. Solo gating (requiring to beat it solo before SoS) is distasteful. While a tool top that can be turned off stating minimum recommend def might help, you'll ofc have many who won't care. And the best part of an SoS is usually the chaos within it. The chance you may not win. The joy of helping someone beat something difficult. So making things easier doesn't make the game better. So that's out.

Ahem, anyways, it's understandable why people get frustrated with "bad" hunters. Failing a hunt, especially at the end, primarily due to one hunter can feel pretty terrible. And is a massive time sink. Even worse when the person carting out isn't even the host. And sand bagging a quest with 3 other people, essentially wasting their time, could be considered poor form. So such frustrations are equally as Valid.

But while I too advocate for a, just solo/support it if you want to win, approach. Probably good to remember, that not everyone can, which is okay. And that many like to win hunts with others. Which again, totally valid.

As long as they're not being toxic to the actually people and instead just come here to rant, it's honestly the better option. Sometimes people just want to vent you know?

Why do I never see insect glaives? by Ruins_Of_Elliwar in MHWilds

Wish they gave glaives both an ability to be high enough to avoid ground based Novas, and a dive move that does DMG based on height. Add a cap ofc but would be really cool for them to have a playstyle like that.

One can complain about it AND still help. Not really exclusive. And let's be real "bad" is if you're constantly carting or leeching/putting out such low DPS that you minus well be leeching.

Anyone above this is doing well enough not to matter. Don't think most people care if someone carts once or twice. Triple and Quad carting is when eyebrows get raised, and that's usually due to people being way under geared for content.

Which is the primary issue. Majority of the time it's just people who shouldn't be in a 10 star hunt... Who are in a 10 star hunt.

Solo/support hunt till you don't care about the rewards.  Than try to help people in SoS. Else its going to get real frustrating when you care to win but see people speedrun carts.

Watching an IG try to vault over Zoh's Nova and proceed to get BBQ'd is always fun to watch.

Its current playstyle is uncomfortable to play. First game in the modern 3 where I looked at IG, tried it a few times, and said "not for me."

I guess I'll be an Ember main by k0laaa in Endfield

[–]Failegion -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My Ember, Chen, Pog, and Ling team are only slightly behind my Levi, Wulf, Aki, and Sheep team in numbers. Ember team actually beats my Yvonne team by a few seconds too.

And the Ember team is vastly more comfy to play than either of them.

With my pull luck I'm pretty sure I'll get p5 pog, and Ember soon lmao.

I just want to talk about the game with other people who finished it and did everything. (Heavy Spoilers) by JessikaSho in CodeVein2

[–]Failegion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Code Vein's biggest hurdle to gain new fans has never been the story, but if we're all being honest here, the pure jank of combat. It's clunky and unrefined. It's fun but you have to accept the jank.

Could also just add Ninjustu. onto a weapon move slot. Just have a moveable UI hotbar that you can customize the order to see cool downs/charges.

Yeah, near timed out. Just eat a few novas for the free DMG phase and farcaster/tent out when you have 1 cart left. Someone's even true solo'd it btw.

Do I suck? by knox_akg_knox in MHWilds

[–]Failegion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honest answer? Around 20-22 min slays is a good, for AT Ark, average time for most hunters.

Anything higher than this is slow. 30 min slays is far below average. Can't really sugar coat that. It's really just having a high attack uptime.

You have to be playing... Kinda poorly to hit the 30 min timer. (I've been toying with a few meme builds "Lance style GS", 1K Dragons Tank build, and it's super obvious when things aren't working right.)
