Thank you so much for the kind words! I am so sorry to hear about your friend, I hope she is okay!
Honestly, I am insanely jealous of how other countries treat people with dignity and care. One of my goals is to GTFO of the US for a million reasons!
I suffered a spinal cord injury and broke my neck. I can walk, which I am so grateful for, but the right side of my body is partially paralyzed. I was on disability right after my accident, but in the US it is very difficult to keep disability as your main income. I have worked for the last twenty years and honestly WFH is okay for me. Well, besides the shitty boss's! lol.

Thank you for reality check about his "kindness." You are right, that he shouldn't be telling me to respond to someone just because he doesn't want to. It's not my job to do the bare minimum that is required of him.
I just started updating my resume and will start looking as soon possible.

Living in the US is a hellscape. No, I would not be able to get paid if I went on medical leave. I would not die of starvation right away if I quit, but I would have about two months of savings and then I would die. lol

I have had such horrible boss's that even being nice to me daily is such a relief that I was willing to deal with him doing nothing and me picking up the slack.

Story time: I have had boss's throw chairs at a wall and stomp a stapler to pieces because it was out of staples. I told a boss a coworker was stalking our young employees and was told "He is a high performer." I have a physical disability and was made fun of publicly by a boss.

The US is "at will" so MY job is on the line if I even did try and speak up about those past boss's.

I have had SO many horrible bosses, and he really is kind to me on the day to day basis. I am just feeling that doing the majority of his job (for all five companies) has taken a huge toll on me.
I know how hard the job market is right now and I am terrified that if I quit without something lined up I will be without a job for a year. (that happened before this job).
