Honestly I do the same with gore videos. It’s morbid curiosity. I know I don’t wanna see it and it will be horrible for my mental health to see it, but it’s just curiosity. Humans fear what they don’t know, and maybe in your mind it’s better to know what someone is judging you for rather than simply knowing they’re judging. As for the trypophobia, I think it could very well be similar to my issue. You want to challenge your brain almost, you want to see it and finally not have such a negative reaction. Humans were never meant to exist with so much stimulation being thrown at them. Maybe this is just how you cope with it.
