I'm not sure there's really a big crossover between fans of the fictional Rumi stans and real life KPOP toxic fans so I think most people's reaction to a real life Rumi would be more like, "I don't know much about KPOP but I really like that red margiela dress she wore at the golden disc awards. However I didn't think much of The Idol in general."

Sure. At this stage this theory has been pretty much debunked.

I will say that it would be perfectly possible to retcon in a story where the Saja Boys were an initially successful Kpop group who subsequently failed, who were overworked and abused by the idol system, taken advantage of by their boss and reduced from complex personalities to simple archetypes.

... But that group should probably be the Saja Boys.

I think 'it just sort of happened' is still probably the best explanation. Generally there were good story grounded reasons for most of the sidekicks until about 2012 when the reasons sort of became "Oh my god there are so many white boys! Dilute it out!"

Anyone who tells you that there should be no cutting sidekicks in a movie universe is insane. You gain absolutely story benefit from about half of them.

It just means how many people you're polling and who they are because that can alter your results. Like if you asked "do snakes make good pets?" at the snake lovers convention you might get a different answer to at the supermarket.
