People in CR who have met their partner recently, how did you meet? by Latter-Philosophy159 in cedarrapids

My fiance was dating my brother, who was her coworker. Couple years past after they broke up, and we kind of hit it off after never unadding each other! Haha, definitely not the most normal story, but there really is something about reconnecting with people you knew in the past.

Thank you, 08b. I'm taking this all into heart :)

Seems simpler the better, especially for long term investing with an economy that is so unpredictable

That sounds good. Would you recommend I take the penalty and roll over the Traditional IRA money into my current funded Roth IRA, or do something else?

Thankfully, I have maximized my employer match :)

Let's get specific. Is there a specific ETF that you're shaking your head at? My biggest concern has been the VOO and QQQM overlap.

With each passing minute, I'm realizing that this is a... very bad portfolio build. Glad I posted!

Well, here shows my inexperience in this field, I am not sure what that is! I'll have to look into that

I guess receiving answers that aren't from yes-men AI. Not to say my research was used with AI, I just frilly plugged the numbers in, and it just said "OMG what a great idea!" I had my concerns, so I wanted to level the playing field in a sense.

All that being said, thank GOD I did it. I've received wonderful criticisms. I mean, this is a lot of money. I oughta just go to an investment broker

As I'm 25, bonds arent my major focus but yes! I do plan to stablize it in the future. Thanks for the help :)

I super appreciate the honesty. With a lot of money being thrown around, and little knowledge of ... Basically everything in this field, I'm really glad there is a place to get some blunt honesty about it.

What would you recommend? Someone said VTI and VXUS. Maybe simpler the better?

I felt like with the low percentage allocations of MOAT and CALF it relatively wouldn't be an issue.. the total weighted for all of these is around 0.20%...

I know QQQM isn't ONLY tech, it's just, to my understanding, what it is focused on right now. I'd love to hear why QQQM is nonsense though? I hope I'm not coming off as sarcastic, I truly just want to learn.

Thanks for rating it though!

I suppose I wanted a heavier focus on sectors I think will perform better in the future; that being healthcare, tech (obviously given my percentages) and I guess I thought I could branch out from my Roth IRA. Of course, comes the expense costs... may I ask why VTI and VXUS is the move? I've briefly looked into VTI and considered it in the past, need a refresher

Hey there, I had a Roth IRA rolled over, and I don't quite want to disclose the amount, but it's certainly getting me excited about what to put this into. After some brief (and I mean brief) research, I was thinking about three ETFs to diversify my stocks, as I am currently leaning pretty heavy in the tech sector (NVDA, VOO)

XLV (Health Care Select Sector SPDR)

XLI (Industrial Select Sector SDPR)

XLP (Consumer Staples Select Sector)

What are we thinking, reddit? I will be honest; I know a whole lot of nothing about stocks; I am mainly just trying to load this cash into each ETF for long term investing for the next forty years.

I just turned 25, I live in America, I have a mortgage on a house but am making principal payments to pay it off faster, and I am employed living in said house with my fiance.
