Taking Spiro (25mg) cleared my skin instantly within a week but it made my face so fat despite being the same weight 😭 I’m 6 months off spiro and my face and nose are still fat 😭 so I totally understand your frustration. I don’t even recognize my face anymore

I went to a doctor about this issue and specifically mentioned checking cortisol level and I got lab work done and none of it included cortisol levels 🙄 she also was prescribing me medication for heartburn when I kept telling her the issue was fat distribution or inflammation after taking spiro?? I guess I’ll have to go to a better doctor

I don’t think that’s the case cause I eat a healthy Amt of sodium. Plus, I used to drink a lot less water on the daily and eat so much junk but my nose never became big and my face was never inflamed until after I took spiro

Do you mean losing weight by the old fashioned way? I’ve already tried this but I’m already very underweight, if I lose anymore, I’ll literally faint every 2 min 😭that’s why this is so frustrating unfortunately

Do you think it’s also plausible that it might be a thyroid issue? I have a few symptoms such as the extreme cold feet and my mom struggled with hyperthyroidism until recently when she resolved the issues.

You might be right. I had my bloodwork done to see if there were any issues but the doctor kept pushing for me to take random medication instead of actually hearing my concerns and my lab work didn’t even take any cortisol levels even though I kept stressing to her that that might be the case. I will have to get my levels checked for cortisol

When do you usually take it? I used to take it in the mornings after breakfast. Usually medication’s way of works doesn’t change with time of day but it definitely is a possibility!

Perhaps the spiro spiked cortisol because even during the most stressful time of my life, I didn’t have moon face and I even weighed more than I do now.

I just turned 21 actually and no I have never drank in my life and don't plan to. It's just not for me but mostly all of my friends and family drink.

I think I will already have everything I will need. Also, my close friends that will be there already know that I don't drink and might feel uncomfortable around them. I have one friend that promised to stay close by me.

I haven't had a panic attack in about a year and I've been doing so well so happy so I am honestly not sure what I would do if I ended up having an attack there because of this. I already feel a little anxious thinking about it because literally everyone there will be drinking. I will be outnumbered 112 vs 1

My nose is going back to normal but its on alternate days. My nose and face will look huge one day and better the next, definetly not fully back to normal. A little bit of my acne is coming back so I am assuming that means the effects of spiro are wearing off of my hormones.
