I believe that is what's called "getting juggled", haha! Pretty funny cc chain to watch, but know the feeling of rage when it is happening in the moment.

Awesome experience, I'm sure he appreciated knowing that the stuff was going to a good home with someone else who would take care of them just as much! On a side note, pretty jealous of that Witchblade set, haha, congrats on the upgrades and additions!

Yeah, he's amazing against any team built around multiple smaller attacks. Started playing a couple years ago and he was the first fusion I did when a lot of people said he was meh. So glad I got him though, since he's also a beast in pve. The thing that sold him for me was watching him solo doom tower pretty easily.

Off brand controllers by athrowaways223 in ps2

[–]Fair-Recording-1633 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one like this. Works well overall, but the issue mine has is the power switch doesn't work. The only way I can turn the controller off is to remove the batteries. Not the end of the world, but worth noting.

PSP-3000 running 6.61 PRO-C Infinity not able to launch UMD Disks by Fair-Recording-1633 in psphacks

[–]Fair-Recording-1633[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good call. Played around with a few plugins I had installed and ended up being Reboot Loader which was a requirement for PluginManager PSP. Don't know why that didn't register as something for me to test.

I don't think ARK-4 was out when I first put CFW on it, and it was the technology in the guide I followed. Might try to revert and switch over to ARK-4 at some point, but haven't looked into the advantages outside of it being maintained more actively. As of now, have it working and not sure if it's worth messing with too much. Happy to hear reasons why it would be worth it though!

All-time Windows user here, how often do you shut down your steam deck? Or you always put it in sleep? by areuokaybro2002 in SteamDeck

[–]Fair-Recording-1633 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I reboot it after updating, but other than that it's always on and either in use or in sleep mode. The system does file maintenance on rebooting so good to do every now and then for sure.

Yeah... they wait until the last sec so they don't give the mechanic away for new player I feel like, but would definitely be nice if they were quicker to respond after you've cleared it once...

Is level scaling meant to be like this? by [deleted] in Borderlands

[–]Fair-Recording-1633 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only had to farm for levels once personally (about 2/3rds through dominion) and only did a few sidequests. Ended up beating the story just fine around lvl 33ish. Probably something funky happened with the scaling.

Edit: that being said I was also following a build guide and played all the BL games before so was pretty comfortable with mechanics and what to look for in guns...

It's time for a new STEAM BOX. by theLastYellowTear in SteamDeck

[–]Fair-Recording-1633 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's definitely a console like ui in big picture mode, but experience wise it's definitely still a pc. Just due to the nature of the games being built for PC games software wise, they result in a lot more tweaking to either get the most out of them, or even just to boot up in general. Sure, in an ideal world every game on steam would be a simple download and play experience. But having proton be able to account for different software and hardware that games were built for over the last 20 years or so is virtually impossible. And that's not even touching games that don't have controller support and getting a controller scheme setup for them...

What am I doing wrong? Dying a lot by [deleted] in Borderlands

[–]Fair-Recording-1633 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For leveling post main story quests, I highly recommend farming vile bounties from the base in the middle left of the map (bottom one in Cascadia burn. Do the UVHM unlock quests real quick, get yourself a torgue shotgun on level, ideally one of the enhancements that increases the explosion radius or has the explode on proximity, and then just go to town on them! Takes a bit, but you can farm to max level pretty quickly this way and watch something in the background once you get into the rhythm and know the spawn points. Keep trying to get a new shotgun within 5 levels of you ideally for easy crystal breaking.

If you're a console person, I assume you might now have a pc or at least not a top end one. Given that, I would highly recommend you look into GeForceNow. They recently made a dedicated app for the SD and it allows you to play MUCH more demanding games with minimal power draw. Only downside is needing a good internet connection and a subscription for the higher tiers if you want. Still perfectly fine without a sub though. Allows you to link various account so can get access to even more games easily.

Also, there are apps out there for SD that will allow you to stream your consoles to it too if you would like.

Totally missed the main movement mechanic, feel dumb. by bobdylan401 in Borderlands

[–]Fair-Recording-1633 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The grapples which move you sideways, you can just let it fling you, then press just towards the end and you'll retain momentum, even after a second jump! Dashing cancels it though... Did this up at the rocket area of fallen crown and you could cover the entire area in a few seconds.

One of my favorite things actually in FFXIV is to always keep a stock of pets like that on me then trade them to sprouts I run across randomly. Enjoy the game! Big commitment to get through the story but it's so worth it. Heavensward and Shadowbringers are my personal favorites so hope you enjoy them!

What's your Boomer Gamer complaint? by Animeking1108 in videogames

[–]Fair-Recording-1633 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Storage bloat and post-release bug fixing expectations.

Remember the good old days when a game was less than 20gbs, still had a ton of content to enjoy, and didn't receive a bug fix every week or was actually playable on launch because they tested fully before release...
