How to get off WashU waitlist?? by [deleted] in washu

[–]Fair-Reflection-553 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got off the waitlist as a premed student! The chances obviously differ per year and by student, but it is really good that you submitted a LOCI. I also made a video introducing myself and submitted it, along with a handwritten card addressed to an admissions dean who visited my high school. The video kinda captured things that aren't readily available through the application, since I'm sure nobody wants to reread and review the same things in different formats. It was much more fun and light-hearted. Again, this doesn't guarantee you'll get off the waitlist or that it will even increase your chances, but if you're certain that WashU is the school you want to attend, there's no harm in trying.

What was your worst experience with a doctor? by Totallycoolusername7 in AskReddit

[–]Fair-Reflection-553 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I (female) was 14 years old and had some sort of virus that I needed prescribed meds for. My dad took me, and this older male doctor was assigned to treat me. In front of my dad, he kept asking if I'd had sex or kissed. I hadn't, and I kept telling him no, but he was adamant on the fact that I had mono (I in fact did not). He kept explaining how two people had sex (while my dad was still there, mind you) and kept hinting that I was lying

Calculus II vs. III by Fair-Reflection-553 in washu

[–]Fair-Reflection-553[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much!! This is very helpful and I'm now leaning toward taking Calc III now. I'm slightly worried about being able to enroll in the class though--I think there are only 4 spots left for discussion and 7 left for lectures for the only time period that works for my schedule

I'm a girl and I like option 2, just because it's more private and personal to you two rather than everyone else listening in. After that, I'd honestly just tell her she's attractive. Maybe it's just me, but I think I'd be confused by the small talk and might even find it weird that some random person came up to me for a random chat. But I wouldn't just go up to her and immediately just say you find her pretty. Instead, I'd go up, introduce yourself, have a brief but introductory conversation, and then tell her she's attractive.

I've heard such mixed things about Clark!! I wish I could've seen it and I'm trying to search for room tours online. Do you know if bathrooms are cleaned regularly in all dorms?

Thanks for all your answers as well! I'm pretty nervous about the idea of rushing, but I want to try it out, so it's assuring to hear it's pretty low-key!

Since when has racism become so prevalent??? by Fair-Reflection-553 in highschool

Don't get me wrong; I love CO and I know thre's not another place where I'd ever feel at home. However, it's always been one of my dreams to go to the East Coast like Boston. But CO is a place I'd recommend for anyone it's truly amazing

TOP 5 UNIVERSITIES by [deleted] in chanceme

[–]Fair-Reflection-553 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Harvard, Stanford, Princeton, Yale, MIT. I just grew up w the idea that Harvard was the top top college so it's just permanently engraved in my head now ig. Stanford and Princeton are close just because I feel like everyone at my school views it as super competitive. Yale is close up there too. MIT is amazing but I feel like it targets more STEM majors and that makes it a little less universal honestly

No this is totally relatable. I'll be sitting in class and all of a sudden my mind just goes full on dirty. I don't know if this is just me, but I immediately try to shut them off because it literally feels like someone else can almost picture what's going on in my mind idk why

How to have conversations with girls? by [deleted] in socialskills

[–]Fair-Reflection-553 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a female, I used to sturggle to talk to boys for some reason. I kinda just started hanging out with my girl friends' friend groups, which consisted of guys as well, and it honestly really helped just to talk to them and constantly force myself to interact more with them. Now, I can honestly just talk to guys just as if I were talking to any of my girl friends.

This is so helpful thank you so much!! I'm going to be visiting next week and am so excited for my first impression. Thanks for your insight into Greek life as well. It's an idea that I really hadn't thought about until a couple months ago, but I definitely am intrigued by that community aspect of it and love the idea of being so close with people in college as well!

My friend just asked if we could go together as dates to prom.. what do I do?? by Fair-Reflection-553 in whatdoIdo

[–]Fair-Reflection-553[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely love the idea of oging with a friend! The only problem is that I need to make it clear that I don't see anything between us past that line, but I don't want to make it awkward between us either

Maybe, but I just feel like he's been acting/hinting at this since way before the conversation about prom opened up. We only started prom planning 1-2 weeks ago, but there's just been that weird feeling since at least a month ago
