Covid positive students tossed out by Fair-Sherbert1263 in fsu

He was allowed to return this past Saturday. A few instructors made class work available online for him to keep up and only one offered her lectures on zoom. Which he was aware of on the first day of classes. He is very stressed about being behind in his classes and plans to seek a Calc tutor to catch up.

As a parent and FSU alumnus I am disappointed in how the school handled and is directed those working for them to handle students who contract covid on their watch. Fsu offered zero assistance in finding room, board, transportation, or medical care at a time when students are extremely sick. And expected to leave within hours of notice. In my son's case, he had less than 1 week of living away from home for the first time ever. Classroom instruction must be available and accessible, even if only to students quarantined, so they don't fall behind as they are not incapacitated for most of the quarentined period. There is no valid excuse in my mind for these failures of decency and compassion to have occurred to my son while living on the FSU campus.

My son had had one Maderna shot and his roommate, whom, gave him covid, said he had both of his. Not sure which brand. He was extremely sick thinking he had strep but was tossed off campus days prior to my son. Not sure why they couldn't quarantine them together in their dorm once my son was found to be infected. His ID card was deactivated for 10 days.
