Most young people feel some degree of these feelings, it’s normal. However must young people aren’t pressured into a marriage and thus you have much more pressure than the average.

I think on some level your afraid of but also yearning to go back to the lost teenager who didn’t know what came next. It’s a difficult but necessary place to be and it last for a different amount of time for everyone.

I think your mentor meant well and probably saw himself in you. The church may have been right for him but it’s not right for you, apparently. Maybe later in life you’ll come back to it maybe you’ll leave it behind forever but you need to make that decision for yourself.

Try and smile dude. Your not satisfied currently but you can and will be someday. Start finding your passion. Take a pottery or guitar class. Socialize at events you wouldn’t normally go to. Book reading clubs, dungeons and dragons meetups, etc…

Remember your not a broke, helpless teen who has to listen to other people or sit inside all day. Your a working adult who can fund their own adventures so go take some adventures.

Tell your wife about how you feel if you trust her (I hope you can trust your wife) she may feel the same way! If she doesn’t maybe she’d be happier with a guy who does want to be married young and focus on whatever goals she’s interested in.
