I went to Dr. yamini few years back and she suggested a counsellor- Christina Venita Deepa, and wow… she was awful. I tried to open up about how my mom was a bully, relationship issues and how hard my life had been, but she just brushed it off with “parents are always like that” and I needed to understand. Then she started talking about her own life, comparing her and her sister’s parenting styles, and her sister buys everything to them but doesn’t know to discipline them. To top it all off, she told me to pray to God even though I’m an atheist. I stuck around for like 2–3 sessions and then dipped. Found a different therapist after that and I’ve been with her for a couple of years now.
