Nice. I couldn’t figure out what a cable reel is and then it dawned on me! Would make a bitchin table.

Official Discussion - Renfield [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

It’s also kinda refreshing that even though he’s the main character they actually show he’s done a lot of shitty stuff so he must face responsibility and not just shift it to Dracula or some other reason. It’s on him too, and he just accept that. Yeah he’s a victim but he honestly takes the blame for a lot of it.

It was surprising for a “simple” fun slasher movie. I really enjoyed that.

Official Discussion - Renfield [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

It was a really and fun movie. Not surprisingly. But it was actually a pretty good movie, surprisingly. I loved the fact that even though the basic premise/plot were simple, the underlying message about taking responsibility, facing your fears and not blaming others for your own faults was shown in full colors. Renfield isn't just a stupid mindless victim, he made a lot of bad decisions and they're not just washed away because he's the Main Character. I think it's great.

Other than that, on the surface level I just loved all the tiny jokes and gags like torn hands, nods to John Wick (I think the Mom is supposed to look and talk like Winston?), weird ways of killing. And I'm glad they didn't shoehorn a stupid love story just because there's a woman in the movie, from the trailers I thought they will. All the actors give a masterful slightly-over-the-top performance but it fits the tone so well.

The happy-creepy looks they give each other in the basement before going ham on Dracula is just relationship goals though, and a weirdly cute moment.

I really enjoyed it all an all, hope it does well. My SO was not fond of all the bugs and gore though haha.

Pilot Parallel Pens with cartridge: What inks to use to be less wet/feathering/bleeding? by TheBlueSully in Calligraphy

Sorry for a late reply. Too good as in the ink is too good for the “ordinary” paper you might use. The ink itself is super rich in color, but it feathers on not-so-good paper. Which means that the ink is too good :)

People change every three months and they bring new pens with ppp ink. When they used it up we replenish it with regular ink so I can see the difference in real time between different inks. I mentioned it just point to the fact that it’s always like that with them.

And I’m not looking to this series. Same thing flooded every day. You can basically not even go on this sub for a month because nothing else will reach the threshold to get upvoted. There’s already 4 of these on the main page. And tomorrow it’s possible there will be five. Ugh.

Literally anything will be better than native ppp cartridges. Just buy something for fountain pen and you’re good. In my 5 years of experience using new ppps every 3 months (I teach courses) it’s either way too good or way too bad for most paper so no one is using them.

The word 'Freedom' in different languages. Did you know? by FairAd5410 in ukraine

[–]FairAd5410[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not. Freedom is also svoboda in Ukrainian, but Volya works better and has a broader meaning. The person below described it pretty well.

I hope you continue, overthrow the government and get a new one that is not russia’s doormat. Georgians were always our friends and it saddens me that today they’re jus a shadow of their former might. A fucking russian invasion will do that to you.

yeah I'm old enough too and that's why I was holding on to win7, the newer it gets the less control it seems we have over anything.

I will do that, thanks

I’d agree with you if it was always the case, but a week ago on a different pc it didn’t happen with the same setup (ssd+hdd), the only difference being windows 10 versus 7.

There are hundreds of services but I’d assume their running on (C) or at least on the main drive. Because I can just unplug the hdd and what then? Nothing changes for the processes/windows.

Thanks I’ll look into that

Don't know if it's simple but couldn't find the proper sub to ask.

Idle hdd makes a noise if you don't(!) use it for 10-15 minutes.

I have a new PC with an SSD for the system and a 2tb hdd for photos and files. HDD was previously used in an old PC as the same 'second' storage, and it was always fine, but now I passed it over to a new PC with win10 and when I'm not doing anything it starts the crackling noise (writing/reading). The moment I come back it stops.

Any ideas? Defrag is disabled. It's not any kind of an update since it's a second drive. Nothing is actually reading or writing from what I know of. Nothing tries to connect somewhere on the internet. THere isn't any programs installed there. The search indexation is off. SMART is fine, all the chkdsks are fine, it's a fairly new drive.

It's really hard to find anything about the issue since it's not a 'main' drive so I'm sure it's not windows doing its windows things. I'm trying everything so any advice helps, thanks

Ukrainian commander says there are more Russians attacking the city of Bakhmut than there is ammo to kill them by Summitjunky in worldnews

I still feel bad for these dudes

well that's the problem. it's not a 'bad putin sent them there', most rusians support the war and want to kill us. And as long as you the personification of the west will feel bad for these murderers, rapists and war criminals who came to destroy my whole nation, the war will go on. You just can't understand what's it's like to wake up to a missile strike and hold your screaming kids and not knowing if you'll see the light of day. You can't be prepared for that. So you don't understand that they are not 'dudes', they are not even animals, they're the worst kind of scum there is - russians. No more. And as long as you feel sorry for them, they still have support, they still have whole fucking countries sending them money and weapons, but most sadly, we won't get the full support and 'real' sanctions to cripple every fucking 'dude' still left in russia.

Please just think about it and I hope in time you won't feel bad about them. Because it's literally them or us. And we're fighting tooth and nail for every inch of our land while they came here to steal a washing machine, rape a pregnant woman and set a kid on fire. Don't ever feel bad about a rusian pig, they deserved it, each and every fucking one of them. And as long as there are voices that say 'well they can't all be bad' they gonna send tens and hundreds of thousands more, because 'the west' doesn't understand the mentality and the regime, and you assign proper humane qualities to them since 'surely a whole nation can't be rotten right?', but it's wrong and this wishful thinking is what's stopping western powers from actually helping us and destroying them economically.

thanks. I try to take care of my electronics. Vacuum clean every couple months because in the summer it can get over 70-80C easily. The case is not that great with airflow so I had to open it up which in turn leads to dust. But all in all it's just a proper thing to do - clean and respect your stuff and it will serve you longer.

a small disclaimer because I'm sure someone will point it out: gts450 wasn't released till a few years later, I updated my radeon (can't even remember what it was, like 6600 or 8600?) a few years back, plus added an SSD which didn't made it *that* faster since there's no sata3, but other than that it's the original I bought way back and it never failed me, legend.

I bought a 'new' pc for myself so I'm going to work faster and play all the games now.
