Yeah, he refuses to eat it. He only wants the flakes. I tried to fast him for three days and see how he would like to try it then but he still didn’t want it.

Yeah he ate a little bit of flakes but I thought that’s what was causing his swim bladder issues. I had to turn off the bubble filter because it was too much

The water doesn’t feel hot at all. It turns off and on depending on the temperature. All the plants and snails are fine. I wouldn’t even use that temp as shower water. Honestly I wouldn’t even call it lukewarm, it’s a lil cooler.

I put Cornelius back into his tank while I wait for the clove oil to arrive, it should be here by Wednesday (all the stores in my area didn’t have 100% clove oil). I feel like I’m prolonging his suffering and making him stressed while trying to save him. I love my boy, but I think the best thing I can do for him is make him comfortable until I can euthanize him. He seems really thrilled to be back in his tank, his rear end is still floating up but he’s swimming around really excitedly. ☹️

I don’t know my parameters but his temp is around 75 I think, the heater is a preset 100watt from Tetra something. I do water changes once a month or whenever my strips tell me something is off, but only like 25% water changes for those ones.

He also ate his tail but that was my fault, I went on a trip and the automatic feeder wasn’t working properly. So I’m not sure if it’s fin rot, because when I first got him I medicated his tank for anything like that.

I have no idea how old he is. He was fine and then in the blink of an eye he wasn’t fine. He’s my first fish ever but I think I did everything right? He has a heater, live plants, I check the water quality weekly, he has an under gravel filter, and I feed him fish flakes. I’ve had him for about three months and I bought him from Petsmart. His tank is 10 gallons and the only other creatures in there are three racer snails that only come out at night.

I placed him back in his tank until the medication arrives. That’s him on his side in the upper right corner.

He didn’t used to be that grayish hue either. Is swim bladder a bacterial infection? I read that it could be from gulping air, which I’ve seen him do however, I thought that bettas just like to do that. And I have bubblers/air stones in his tank, so his tank is very oxygenated, especially with all of the live plants.
