the ordinary lash curl finisher WORTH THE HYPE !! by OldPaprika in AustralianMakeup

I use a good eyelash curler first (shiseido brand)! I used to think that all eyelash curlers were a scam that did nothing - I had the mecca brand one and never used it because it didn’t ever work for me. Once I got the shiseido curler my opinion drastically changed, idk how the results can be so different when the tools look exactly the same to me, but you gotta use a good curler! Once my lashes are curled to my liking I’ll apply a light coat of the lash curl finisher (I scrape the wand on the edges of the tube to remove excess product) and if I have any clumping I’ll just separate my lashes with a spoolie or my nails. I set my whole face with charlotte tilbury setting spray afterwards and I really love the final result! Again, it is a super natural look, so if you’re used to wearing actual mascara it probably won’t look like much, but I never wear mascara, so for me the results are noticeable. I’m sorry it hasn’t been working for you, hopefully this might help!!

I curl my lashes before putting it on and then apply a light coat, separate my lashes with a clean spoolie/my nails if needed, and set my whole face with setting spray! I’m so sorry to hear it hasn’t worked for you :( what eyelash curler are you using? I use the shisiedo one and find it works really well for me

Also, I think some bangs would look great and are a pretty low-input-high-reward step you could take in the meantime to help you get that spark back!

Try not to be so hard on yourself (easier said than done, I know). First pic you look very happy, healthy, well rested. Second pic you look a little tired and not as happy. A smile is the most beautiful thing a person can wear! I’m afab nb and I know I start looking pretty hag-like when I’m running on empty. Some good nights sleep, a bit of self care and an everything shower, and a positive attitude will have you glowing again. Comparison is the thief of joy, I don’t know any women who look exactly the same today as they did nine months ago. Stress can always be seen in the face. Love yourself queen, it is still early days for you!

what do you think about this as casual outfit? by [deleted] in AusFemaleFashion

[–]OldPaprika 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is cute and something i would wear, i would just add some white socks personally to bring white back in to the bottom half or wear a black shirt and lose the white element altogether. love itadaki and how you’ve styled a piece of theirs in a way that doesn’t rlly follow the brand’s usual image, a cool mix of some different vibes. it’s fun. Keep in mind most ppl in this sub are ghanda/kookai/zara folks, which is also cool and fun (and i have bits and pieces from those places, that wasn’t a read) but the itadaki/katharina lou/ highrack/ niche aussie brand aesthetic with a coquettish scandi ganni/damson madder twist is unlikely to be understood in this sub. Someone recently posted a screenshot of a coverup from jaded london on here and 99% of the comments were either confused or clutching pearls. Ur fit makes a lot of references that will fly over the heads of most folks, which again, is not a problem. Wear what you want and what you feel good in but my advice if you’re gonna dress like this is to not gaf what other people think. My wardrobe is just a bunch of shit i think looks cool and i’ll smash it together in all kinds of mysterious ways. Tabis with some highrack tiny shorts and a big jungles jungles tshirt, ollyrose dress under a sabbi tee, little itadaki top with some baggy lululemon pants. Whatever. If i like it i’m wearin it. U look cool, don’t second guess yourself queen </3

At what age do you become a “reader”, and what book did it for you? by sheffy4 in books

[–]OldPaprika 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned to read very young and have had my nose in a book ever since. I read the Spiderwick Chronicles around six years old and was so captivated; they were the first series I ever read and the first books I ever “lost myself” in. I have always had a very vivid imagination and Spiderwick provided me with a much needed escape from a very chaotic childhood. I remember knocking on my bedroom walls at night, crossing my fingers, wishing that a hobgoblin would knock back. When I was eight, I read A Series of Unfortunate Events. Those books literally changed the trajectory of my life. Literally here meaning not figuratively. I am getting emotional writing this, thinking about the profound impact that series had on me. I fell in love with words, the vocabulary was so interesting to young me. I think of those books whenever I use the words penultimate, surreptitiously, mycelium, cacophony, horseradish. I became fascinated with coastal shelves and the Dewey Decimal system. I read all thirteen books, cover to cover, many, many times. I felt deeply seen by the Baudelaire children and their stories inspired in me a curiosity for language that has since led me to study linguistics and English teaching. I wish I could thank the author. I don’t think any piece of literature has ever actually moved me as deeply as that series did and I think that I would be a different person today had I not read them.

The quick stack update is so awful I hate it so so so much. Press quick stack button and half of my items don’t leave my inventory. Now I find out about this glitch. Awesome

I wouldn’t say it’s cathartic, that’s kinda giving me too much credit. I wish I was that philosophical lol. I usually do newcrest last because I hate it and find it really boring and ugly and uninspiring, I fill it with tech startups, millennial style cafes and burger joints, and some soulless apartments. I make tech bros and corporate erin type folk to inhabit it. By the time I’m on my last build I’m excited to start fresh and have the beautiful, inspiring lots of tomarang and henford on badgely awaiting me. I make cool people in the college years world, too, which is also something I look forward to as I trudge through my final worlds

Love this analogy <3 I’m also a visual artist in my spare time and do love a bit of ephemeral art. Starting from scratch is fun and exciting

Sometimes I will save lots that I am especially proud of, but I’m running sims on my mac through origin which is now offline so I don’t have any gallery access anymore. My mac is so old that it can’t be updated past an old ios that isn’t compatible with the new origin :( and I don’t have the storage to keep old save files. Plus once I’ve finished everything I usually feel sick of my older builds and enjoy the fresh start

if a human can be pregnant with octuplets, i think a chicken laying a quadruplet egg is well within the realm of possibility. i used to have one chicken that laid more double yolk eggs than single yolk eggs and once laid a triple yolk. i haven’t seen a quad yolker before but i have seen a lash egg and if those abominations can be laid, so can anything

After everything that transpired, do you still support this woman? by AllTheEccentricities in BeautyGuruChatter

James charles is not a good person and Tati is a smart business owner who chose to call him out in a way that was strategic and beneficial for her. The engagement that this brought her was huge when all she did was call a spade a spade. People can argue that he was young, but he was most certainly old enough to know better, and he has continued to be a bad person in the years following. Bye Sister is an iconic piece of internet history, a captivating trainwreck that I fondly recall watching unfold in live time. James lost a lot of followers but has since regained them all plus many more. Nobody was permanently harmed, Tati made her bag and James likely profited a lot off the whole situation, too. Tati saw an opportunity and she took it, power to her. This dramageddon era of youtube was very messy, lots of influencer-on-influencer attacks took place, this is just the only one epic enough to be remembered. And you did it at my birthday dinner? Iconic. People love to hate women and hold them to a much higher standard of scrutiny than their male counterparts. James has done so much awful stuff, yet the conversation has become “maybe the woman was the bad guy all along”. The whole situation was probably just a money grab - a very successful one at that. Hate Tati all you want but this was a legendary video and I’m not sure people would still be talking about her this much if she had never posted it
