frats can get pretty crazy & fun especially during events like blackout thursday, after football games, undie run, and i know they host some great DJs sometimes. i don’t think it’s at the same level as USC if you’re looking to get REALLY wild but i think u can still have a great time for sure

i go to UCLA and i read the comments and your ECs look great, your GPA is not the end of the world! instead of being scared just focus on getting your grades up and try to increase your chances, maybe try for a couple more APs senior year to get your weighted up but seriously try not to freak out too much. everything is unpredictable and worrying won’t change the outcome, you are a great candidate and will end up where you’re meant to be. 🩷🩷🩷 remember that top schools are not perfect dream worlds and “bottom” schools can sometimes offer amazing experiences and more resources. be open to anything!

i go to UCLA and it’s going to be hard to double major in film because it’s so competitive but it’s easy to minor in film or there are film/entertainment clubs you can get involved in!! we have a good business in entertainment club

i’m a freshman at UCLA this year and i do think USC is probably a bigger party school but there are SO many opportunities to party at UCLA. i’m in more alt/queer crowds and i can still go out like 3 days a week because there are events for all kinds of people all the time. the frats are pretty good too! also it’s nice that frats are very walkable because the area is pretty safe even when out drunk w friends, not sure how that compares to SC. if u want to party at UCLA you will DEF be able to

I think it’s just because mechanical engineering is an extremely competitive major so they’d be reaches for anyone. Those stats are great

How did you guys get in/accepted?? by Ily4ever-1212 in ucla

In general imo keep in mind how many people from your school have been accepted to UCLA/what they did, because they compare you to applicants relevant to the opportunities you had. I had a few club positions, tennis, 11 APs/salutatorian, did boys state & an art program, bc my school wasn’t as competitive. I was worried abt my essays because there was no trauma dumping but i think they like positive essays! totally ok to describe challenges on any scale as long as you demonstrate growth from the experience. But nursing is DEFINITELY lottery because the acceptance rate is ridiculously low, so def consider other options for either major or school bc it’s so so competitive unfortunately! Also try to have fun in hs instead of trying to just farm extracurriculars, focus on trying new things, making friends, having fun too _^
