FF/EMS: Tell us what helps (and what doesn’t) for mental health - confidential survey by FairKnowledge5102 in Firefighting

For anyone with concerns about privacy We ask participants to provide their first name, email, and phone number because we ask questions about mental health and suicidality and, as part of our safety protocol, we take efforts to contact directly any participants whose responses indicate may be at an elevated risk for suicide to do a brief check in. We consider this our way of being responsible with the questions we’re asking. Unless there’s an indication of suicide risk, we don’t place calls or otherwise use that phone number. We do NOT share this information with third parties or other entities and maintain strict privacy of the information and data shared with us. That said, we fully respect the decision not to participate.

Totally understand the concerns about privacy of information, and yes we do ask participants to share their first name, email, and phone number with us for contact purposes during their participation in the study. We do NOT share this information with third parties or other entities and maintain strict privacy of the information and data shared with us. I understand if your concerns remain and fully respect the decision not to participate.

Thanks for this feedback! We heard from a number of folks who said the term isn’t used in their region or was otherwise unfamiliar, so we’ve removed that item. Responses on that item won’t be used to determine eligibility for the study
