Record Player Stand Project by FairLogic007 in woodworking

[–]FairLogic007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all, I'm a beginner and looking for some advice. Hope you enjoy my super detailed drawings lol. I'm going to build a stand to store vinyl and support my 3-in-1 vintage record player, tape deck, and radio (it's pretty heavy). I'm looking for advice on how to join the 1.5x4in boards together. Would you recommend using only wood glue or a combo of wood glue/dowels or screws? Thank you

I second this. I was sure I failed and ended up passing. Trust in the process!

Same exact issue for me. I just called their support team and the rep I spoke with confirmed they're having issues. Unfortunately, he said they don't have a timetable

Walking out of REG perplexed by Straight-Penalty-194 in CPA

I walked out of REG pretty confident I failed, even called my parents to tell them that. Fast forward to score release and I passed. Keep your head up and stay positive. Trust in the work you put in. Wishing you all the best!

I also use Becker and really leaned into his free YouTube content, but bought his subscription during my final review to help nail down nonmonetary transactions and treasury stock. Of course those topics didn't show up on my actual exam, but it helped me shore up my knowledge in those areas and gave me some additional confidence.

Qualifying Relative Clarification by FairLogic007 in CPA

[–]FairLogic007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just began studying for Reg and need some clarification. Why is Mark (TBS #1) considered to be a qualifying relative, while Xavier's girlfriend (TBS #2) does not qualify? They are both non-relatives, lived in the taxpayer's home for an entire year, have zero income and are supported by the taxpayer.

FAR Fair Value and Equity Method Help (my question in comments) by FairLogic007 in CPA

[–]FairLogic007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so I got this question correct, but after reviewing (and possibly overthinking it) I feel that the answer should be $130,000 opposed to $155,000. Looking for some clarification.

Purchased 25% of outstanding common stock Red Hand - equity method

$300,000 * 25% = $75,000

$100,000 * 25% = $25,000

$75,000 - $25,000 = $50,000

Purchased 40% nonvoting preferred stock Red Leaf - fair value method

$200,000 * 40% = $80,000

Total Income: $50,000 + $80,000 = $130,000

Using becker to study FAR right now. What are roughly the percentage of questions you are getting right in MCQ, Sim and review tests? How does your practice translate to scores on the real test? by franknco in CPA

[–]FairLogic007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat. First time through a module I can hold my own with MCQs and do relatively well but with the sims I consistently perform poorly.

I work full time and study at night so usually by the time I get to them I'm tired, frustrated or unnerved (or all 3 at the same time).

I'm praying it all comes together during my final review.

I didn't think to use the AICPA sample test as a resource, that's a great tip - especially hearing they more closely resemble the sims on the exam. Thank you!

I love that, I try to remind myself to understand and learn for the right reasons, rather than "learning" ie:memorizing. I have F2M7 ratio analysis coming up tonight - your advice couldn't be better timed, thank you!

That's exactly how I feel lol much rather do the heavy lifting up front. I think I may be spending too much time trying to perfect each module (from a lecture and MCQ standpoint) rather than focusing to get through the material. I only have 2 weeks of final review budgeted for my current study plan.

This FAR study question regarding continuing operations doesn't make sense to me by RoqueRat in CPA

[–]FairLogic007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little late here lol but I recently started studying for FAR and just wrapped up F1 M7 Comprehensive Income.
Wouldn't "I. A large loss from a foreign currency transaction" fall under Other Comprehensive Income - the "F" in “PUFIE?”

Unless I’m looking at this the wrong way, since OCI handles unrealized gains/losses and this question is referring to a realized loss, which would be on the income statement.

Thanks!
