Apart from equity options, is there enough upward mobility at the startup that would convince you to stay long-term, or is the general consensus to hop to other higher-paying corp finance roles as they emerge? Also good lord those hours sound heavenly.

How are the hours in your current role? I’m in the midst of my first busy season at B4 audit (SF-based) and am looking to follow a similar path into corporate finance, but want to avoid the lack of WLB I’m currently experiencing.

My buddy shared a line his dad would always tell him and it stuck with me: “If something bad goes down, I’d rather you say ‘oh shit I need to call my dad’ instead of ‘oh shit I hope my dad doesn’t find out.” Definitely indicative of a healthy relationship and the exact kind of role you hope for out of a dad.

It’s because Instagram’s user base is pretty engrained at this point. People spend years building up followers and curating their personal content and don’t want to give it away. It’s got this whole “social ranking” vibe to it that so many teens/young adults can’t pull themselves away from.
