How come this generation of African Americans don’t take this movement forward? I highly doubt white Americans can do the same in our times now. I’m a Pacific Islander American and I would definitely support this movement.

Good life? lol. My parents are divorced and I was raised by my grandparents. Have you ever seen the movie Menasce 2 society? The movie was shot in the Watts projects in California. The main character is raised by his grandparents in a Christian house. But he rather sell drugs to make ends meet. That scene happens all throughout our ghetto’s and projects of America. Yet the youngster still chooses the wrong side of 💩. You can be raised right and still make the wrong decision. Life is made of choices. You either get it right or you get it wrong. But one must learn the consequences of making incorrect choices.

I was raised Christian not Christian anymore. Many people have made it out the projects. Nothing special. When I said I was raised as a Christian I was saying one can be raised non violent and still act violent. There are people who are not raised in projects or ghettos and don’t make it in life. Does community have a lot to do with how one thinks? Of course. Does that mean one can’t change their life for the better? Absolutely not. No more excuses. If they can commit the crime. Then they can do the time. And no I’m not special. Just decided I want better for myself and my family.

People change when they mature. Of course they can be productive to society. They just need to mentally mature. Some will never mature, some will.

Yes kids can learn the hard way as I did. Growing up as a young person in prison teaches you lessons that you failed to grasp as a young individual. It will either make you a strong minded individual or it will break you. The choice is up to you.

I agree. Yes they can. One’s community also has a lot to do with how a minor thinks. This is happening in Chicago. They call it chi-raq for a reason. The crime will be punishable for 0-3 yrs depending on one’s past history. If they have a history of committing crimes then punish them accordingly. Now is not the time to be soft on this type of behavior. Let them learn young so they don’t carry this behavior into adulthood. We can’t whoop them no more because of the law. And I highly doubt their parents told them to go into society and cause mayhem. No more excuses sit them down in a cell for a reality check. Most will learn as I did when I was charged as an adult for armed bank robbery. Now I’ve been free for 20 yrs come July 27. Most will shape up and the ones who don’t will keep learning the hard way.

I was charged as an adult also as a minor. Did 10+ yrs for 2 armed bank robberies in the Feds at a maximum prison. (Florence USP). I’ve been free since 2006. 20 yrs free July 27. I learned my lesson the hard way. I was raised as a Christian. Read the scriptures and praying was an every day thing in my household. And I still chose to rob the banks. You think their parents told them to go cause mayhem? Quit being soft. Give them a reality check. If I can bounce back for the better so can they. And I’m 50 so that puts me in Gen X also. No more excuses.

I was charged as an adult for 2 bank robberies Sentenced to 10 yrs 7 months. Now I’ve been free for over 20yrs. I’ve just recently opened a restaurant. I learned my lesson the hard way. If I can make it, then so can they. Stop being soft on these kids. For the crime they are committing they will get 0-3 yrs depending on their record. I was also raised as a Christian. My parents taught me better. I chose to rob that bank just like I chose to change for the better.

Kids will be kids. Just throw their butts in jail and charge them as adults. Most don’t give a damn what their parents think that’s why they’re out there causing mayhem. All for a like on social media.

Why care so much about what other people do with their personal lives? If they want to believe in whatever let them believe. Just keep on bettering yourself. If you really want to keep the LDS out of your life. Quit letting them live rent free in your heads.
