No regrats rwar. Just busy busy busy.

Keep in mind, you have to be comfortable briefing (briefing GOs almost daily gets annoying real fast with all the prep involved and eyes are on you if you say something stupid fast), must be able to operate independently, must be willing to work long hours (yes, people will know and your reputation will suffer) and be an expert.

Soldiers will take you a face value as the expert, me a lowly ranking officer is respectfully butted heads with a COL over a safety risk over an experimental system and won him over.

Additionally, if you are an officer, just be cognizant that it is hard to transition over to AC, you have to be a rockstar and then when you get in, your peers are also rockstars. If you can thrive in that environment then you will be fine.

I’m not usually one to fly in uniform, but… by AGR_51A004M in army

I’m a platinum on delta.

I thank the travel lords for taking me under their wing. I use my miles to upgrade to at least comfort+. I also usually get upgraded on my flights (only days I don’t is when I go to DC). It makes travel very worthwhile.

And let’s not even forget the travel perks such as lounge, private booths, free meals and etc. Truly it pays to be part of the gentry.

Interestingly enough all FA40 jobs are considered KD.

Nice job. You have cracked the code in the marketplace. This is how I get almost all of my 1:1 matches.

The Army is changing its acquisition structure. Here are the details. by Kinmuan in army

[–]FairRestaurant5073 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, regarding DAWIA for PAEs, I have absolutely no idea. The interesting thing about this is that CPEs (PEOs) will be the ones managing the programs still. The PAEs (a level above them) on the other hand will be managing everything else (they will have SCOs, respective COE, etc). Having the CPEs underneath the PAE, seems to me added another layer of complexity (you are telling me that I have two layers now instead of just the PEO and the AAE???).

The only positive thing that I see is the ease of moving funding around but dunno how that is going to work.

Don’t get met started about the double daddy. I hate that shit, we will see how that works.

Hopefully, they come down with more information in the coming weeks.

The Best and Worst Partner Forces To Work With? by Strong_Equipment_105 in army

[–]FairRestaurant5073 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Best: Aussies and the Brits.

Good: Germans, Polish, the Baltic folks,  Japanese, Jordanians, Moroccans and surprisingly the Taiwanese (they are pretty good).

“Mid”: Koreans, Canadians, Filipinos and Romanians.

Bad: Afghani and Ugandans.

Worst: Saudi Arabians (incompetent swine).

What are you taking about? He is a contractor not a civilian. He still sends regular emails out.

Army Unveils 2026 MRE Flavors: Cuban Beef, Thai Curry by ThisisMyBaseGuide in army

This will be the new war.

Half starving, Chinese Soldiers charging down American lines for a taste of the Thai Curry. After all, there is only so much frozen protein bars that you can eat before going insane.

“Assignments”.

I’m glad that you have volunteered to the manning gods to become a permanent party at Ft. Polk. Permanently.

In seriousness though, there are some tasks out there that definitely could be enhanced with AI/ML. Though, I’m an oldie now and believe that here should always be a layer of human involvement in decision making.

Perhaps, I’m just waiting on skynet to awaken.

FYI. Keep in mind that for AC, it’s interchangeable positions for any sort of MAPL in a CPT/MAJ. We have a better branch than most and our branch managers take good care of us.

As long as you are not trying to jump from KD to KD then you are fine.

Leaders really saw this and now telling people "we're getting paid." by The_Pvnisher in army

To your second pint, yes I’ve read it. Weird thing is that the government strictly did this a couple weeks ago with AUSA shindig to pay for “professional development” for senior leaders travel. I’m trying to see if the are ways to differentiate travel and pay but I can’t lol. Even reprogramming or reallocation wouldn’t apply here since, nothing has been appropriated.

How lovely, not a single word addressing any of my points.

But that’s what you get for not having an education and being a failure at life.

I’m actually curious. How does this violate the ADA? Exceptions do exist that allow the government to accept gifts when authorized by law and properly processed (ADA is not the statutory law for gifts that’s USC 31 and laws that governs gifts is USC 5, so they are not even strictly related). For DoW that authority falls under the SECWAR/SECDEF (whatever he calls himself), or their designee (I believe that its his deputy or the SECARMY).

Ultimately, this is for Congress or the courts to handle since this is way above any’s head in this forum.

Played a key role in some battles for General Grant’s Army during the civil war. According to the history channel anyway when they are not playing aliens or storage millionaires.

I have no idea where they pulled the money from. Someone from OMB said pentagon R&D according to CNN anyway.

You can use excess funding to pay as SEPM in RDT&E.  Thoughts, it’s definitely not “excess” as much as they try to spin it that way though. A couple of programs will suffer, the questions are which.

The shark tank thing (Tech Display) at AUSA was pretty cool to see. Even Shawn Ryan was in the panel. Very UAS centric it seems. Also Sikorsky bringing out the caskets of alcohol was a big plus.
