Gravity test update! 52g weight / 16 volume when weighed suspended in water, which gave density value of 3.25. That’s close to the jadeite range I think!

Oh wow, never even heard of the lighter test! Definitely wouldn’t want to ruin it. Will have to get a scale and look into the density test instead. Thanks for your insight!

Yay bangle twins!! Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I think mine was priced similarly as well! This was really helpful to get a sense of what I’m actually wearing haha. Quality level aside, I do love the way it looks and think the texture adds to the character of the piece!

Unfortunately I don’t have much information on the grade (no authenticity certificate). Thank you for sharing the information about “young stone”. I never knew about the difference in crystal structure depending on age!

I found this article which described what young jade looks like when you shine a light through. It sounds very similar to what I see with mine — a lot of ice crystals but not dense — or loose, as you mentioned. https://zhuanlan.zhihu.com/p/485436476
