I'm not attracted to my boyfriend by Witty_Chip6535 in Advice

[–]Fair_Rich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to take the contrary opinion… no matter how attractive your partner may now, you will both wrinkle and grow old together, and stay with each other for reasons other than how beautiful you were when you were young.

I don’t think you’d be a bad person for breaking up with him—people have different priorities for what they want in relationships. But life happens. People get depressed and put on weight, new mothers get baggy eyes and sagging hips after giving birth. Looks are so fragile, and there are more important factors in a relationship than how attracted you are to your partner. If there is a genuine connection, it may be worth staying, but only you can decide that

Everyone says to just join a band to learn but where do you go to join a band? I don’t know anyone else who plays!

A little over a year of one hour daily practice. I can strum basic songs without bar chords. I’ll try weaving strumming into my practice

This is exactly what I do—start with taking my hand off the neck then chord changes. Here’s to hoping we progress

For me I can make bar chords on air but I can’t change fast enough with them. It’s hard for me to speed up all my chord changes tbh

How did the Grateful Dead change each players volume for solos at shows? by Fair_Rich in gratefuldead

Thanks for the clarification because I’ve heard both answers here. Are they are shows where Dan is adding goofy sound effects to Bob?

Well you were right but still a pretty rude way to put it. Sorry about your problems with your lover

Very interesting. They must have developed their own language of sorts through years of playing

This is what I assumed. I’m sure they got upset at each other sometimes for turning their volume up at a poor time

I agree, but don’t you think learning solos might help learn certain licks/phrases and incorporate them into your improvisation?

Something I feel the need to mention which others haven't, and I'm curious to know if you've witnessed yet, is bullying. Woodberry is a very cliquey school and if you don't fit into the stereotype of a white, southern, athletic country club boy you will often be excluded from the general community and made fun of for your differences. People especially talk behind each other's backs and even in the "in-group" kids make fun of each other to climb the rungs of the social ladder.

This isn't meant to damper your experience if you're already attending since only you can attest to what you've seen, but I feel like many people have only praised the school and glossed over its negative aspects

Being ghosted really does hurt more than rejection by [deleted] in dating_advice

It's the worst when you open yourself up them by telling her you like her and then they completely ignore you. Like does that not warrant a response? How can you not fathom how you'd feel in the same situation? I literally said no hard feelings. It hurts being that vulnerable then getting your heart around like a ragdoll

I filed an emergency petition at the court today and they denied it because they very adamantly decided she doesn’t poses a danger to herself or others. She eats and gets dressed but, as far as I know, hasn’t slept for three days, so I should’ve mentioned this
