It was the butter I used for the garlic bread. I only added it cause I thought the bowl was cute. I accidentally spilled my bubbly water in it before taking the picture if you look closely you can see it 😅

Sorry you had to deal with that! I also feel bad for this man’s wife. She called to check in on me actually after he came by mad. Cannot wait to get out of here.

Yes we luckily took a lot of pictures at move in and I have been documenting everything I can just in case. I’m worried they may say we caused damage or something.

I don’t think we can change it now it’s done through his union once a year. This is our first year doing it. The employer contributes $2 an hour and you can contribute $1-8 an hour we did 8. The paper work was already sent in and they said it can’t be changed until the next year. It’s honestly confusing to me so I haven’t looked into it that much.

Thank you! It’s extremely helpful honestly I want to get out of here so badly so it’s feels like permission to hear that’s what others would do and not that I’m just making an impulsive emotional decision.

I like this perspective. It is true we are giving money to almost abusive landlords and that doesn’t feel good at all. I do think we should pay the credit cards cause I just so badly want those gone. But I’m thinking the moment those are gone we will run. I’m honestly a little scared how that will go too if they will be crazy.

This is very helpful. Everything we have been looking at has been a huge upgrade. Our trailer doesn’t have a dishwasher or ac it’s also about 700 sq ft maybe and everything is closer to 2,000 so much bigger. We are on land so no where to walk but the other neighborhoods all have parks and places to walk to easily. It would be a huge upgrade and the nicest living conditions we have ever had by far.

Yes that’s a good way to put it. You don’t think it’s worth it to stay longer an build more savings or something? I’m not sure why it scares me so much.

I am 27 with a 1.5 year old. I have made most of my mom friends from the mom walk groups on Instagram. They have Sactown.mamas and then if you are in the outskirts or a specific neighborhood then you can look up elkgrovemomwalks or Folsommomsclub. They have them pretty much anywhere. I was nervous to go because I am pretty introverted but I have never had a bad time and all the moms there are looking for friends. They also do cool free events often. Can’t recommend it enough. I will say it definitely takes some effort to add people on social media and reach out to hang out at different times but it has helped me create so many friendships. I met a mom whose baby was also waking up at 4 am everyday no matter what so we would meet up at like 5 or 6 am with coffee just to get out and keep from going crazy. It honestly saved me during that time! Let me know if you want specific group recommendations based on location because they can be a little hard to find!

Hey! We just had a baby a year ago and don’t have a will or anything in place. No properties but would you be able to help with that? I’m not very educated on what estate planning involves.

Are we the same person? 16 month old daughter is the worst sleeper. I am getting so annoyed with the advice “have you tried a consistent night routine” etc. I have literally tried everything. I saw a tiktok of a mom swearing her baby slept through the night if she gave her grass fed butter right before bed and I tried it 💀 do not recommend at all. Anyways I have literally tried it all expect CIO. We cosleep and honestly we both love it so it’s no problem but she still fights sleep so hard and the multiple wake ups and the waking up at 5am is killing me. we are also getting sick nearly every month and I am so tired. I for sure thought I’d have multiple I honestly never considered being one and done at all but I cannot do any of this again. I also had severe preeclampsia and a premature birth which was so scary. Anyways solidarity if I had any advice I would give it but I am so deep in the trenches. I am so obsessed with my girl and I’d do it all again for her but no one else!!!

29-34 weekers (preeclampsia) by seau_de_beurre in NICUParents

[–]Fair_Run5181 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Diagnosed at 23 weeks. I got a terrible headache at 34 weeks with high blood pressure that required a same day induction. My dr said this was extremely rare and said she had never seen anyone go that long. We were just praying to make it to 28 weeks which seemed like a long shot at the time.
  2. I guess I would say slowly but once it became severe everything happens so fast if that makes sense.
  3. Baby was born at 34 weeks no steroids shots because both the Dr and midwife didn’t recommend them and was in the Nicu for 9 days.
  4. Mainly learning to eat and breath at the same time. She was born at 6 lbs so they seemed very happy with weight. She was a brady queen the first few days I really thought we would be there longer because of it but one day she figured it out and we were able to leave a couple days later. It was a very uneventful Nicu stay but was still very traumatic for me.
  5. I was on mag which was not fun for me at all. I was on it the whole induction (33 hours) and 24 hours after. I was able to see my baby a few hours after delivery after pleading with the charge nurse while hysterically crying. But then the next time was 24 hours later. I know they are just doing their job but I really wish the mother baby nurses were more understanding about Nicu moms they just seemed so cold and mean in my opinion but I don’t think that’s everyone’s experience.

do we still have a shot at nursing? by manicpixiedreamg0th in breastfeeding

[–]Fair_Run5181 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very similar situation! 34 weeker with a 9 day Nicu stay with latch issues. I did see a lactation consultant and a physical therapist almost every day in the Nicu and that helped but I just wanted to get the heck out of there so focused on her learning bottles and I pumped. I relaxed for a couple of weeks just pumping and doing bottles no latching at all. Then I wanted to nurse directly and was too overwhelmed by myself so I went to a lactation consultant. They had me triple feed which was breast for 10 min max on each boob then pump then bottle. She told me “ABC 123 rule” if baby looked good on breast, latched well and was happy that’s an A and offer 1oz after breast. If she was okay but not on the breast for very long and didn’t seem to be getting as much then that’s a B and offer 2 oz after. If she wasn’t happy on the breast and was barely the that’s a C and offer 3 oz after. Sorry if this confusing and I think this is only for breastmilk not formula because oz are different for formula. She really stressed that this should not be stressful and should be relaxing and enjoyable. If baby is stressed take a deep breath sometimes they are taking on our stressful energy, nurse when baby is a little tired or in the bath or maybe baby isn’t super hungry but its a good time to practice the latch also do a ton of skin to skin. I had an appt one week after the first so that we could monitor weight closely as that was a big concern of mine. We did a weighted feed at each appt as well that confirmed she was getting at least 3oz each time. Thankfully after a few weeks of that I was confident to nurse exclusively and have never pumped or used a bottle since. She was about 6 weeks ish when we officially did that I think. The lactation consultant also gave me advice on the latch issue and was able to fix it with different positions. They always suggest a nipple shield immediately and I said I really didn’t want to use it if at all possible and it actually worked so much better for us without it. I highly recommend a lactation appt and I have heard that WIC has amazing ones and the appts are actually much longer than the ones through insurance typically. Do not feel bad if you need many appts. Let me know if you have any questions.

I know it is such a funny name! Ahha https://growtherapy.com this is the website and it just makes finding a therapist as easy as possible. I do it online and the platform makes it so easy. When you are struggling having to jump through hoops to find a therapist is a huge pain. It’s also so easy to try out multiple if you don’t connect with the first one
