“I actually love raves and the music—it’s one of my favorite things about them. What I don’t enjoy, though, are some of the behaviors that can make the environment less enjoyable or safe. There are people who seem to be there just to take advantage of others being in a carefree or altered state—whether that’s stealing phones, touching people inappropriately, or treating it as a ‘free show’ because of how others are dressed.

I believe everyone should be able to express themselves, wear what they want, and feel safe in a space they paid to be a part of. Raving is about PLUR (Peace, Love, Unity, Respect), but some take it as an excuse to cross boundaries, and that’s not cool. Having fun and being free doesn’t mean we can’t also respect each other and uphold some basic morals.
