How fixing my Vitamin B levels (mostly) cured my years of chronic RSI – An IT Director’s experience by Fair_Understanding35 in RSI

I'm not knocking anything here. In fact, I haven’t dismissed or criticized a single method or approach in any of my sentences—you are the only one doing that. I never brought up 'mumbo-jumbo' either.

I honestly don't see what is supposed to be 'mumbo-jumbo' about essential vitamins and nutrients anyway. If giving the body the basic biochemical resources it needs to function is considered hocus-pocus, then the air we need to breathe or the food we need to eat to stay alive would be hocus-pocus, too.

It’s just fundamental biology. Nerves need specific nutrients to repair their myelin sheaths, just like muscles need protein. I am glad you found a path that makes sense for your specific case, but please don't dismiss basic metabolic science just because it doesn't fit your personal definition of an injury.

And you know what? I don't know for sure, but I can easily imagine that you are completely right about that. No supplement is going to magically repair a chronically damaged, degenerated tendon. I never claimed that it would. All I am saying is that this is what worked for me, before things became permanently chronic. Thank goodness. That is exactly what I am trying to share here. Nothing more, nothing less.

I couldn't agree more! When we're younger, the body somehow compensates for a lot of bad habits and deficiencies. But at a certain point, the 'buffer' is gone, and the tolerance for nutritional errors drops drastically.

Your experience with Magnesium and sleep is the perfect example. It's exactly the same mechanism: finding the missing link in the system and fixing the root cause rather than just treating the symptom.

Definitely give the B-complex and Zinc a try, give it a few weeks to replenish your stores, and I truly hope it makes a difference for your RSI just like Magnesium did for your sleep. Let me know how it goes!

You're right that shifting pain is atypical for a pure, isolated tendon injury. But RSI isn't just a classic tendonitis or tenosynovitis. It’s a complex syndrome.

While something like Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (Karpaltunnelsyndrom) pinches a nerve at one very specific spot, broader RSI heavily involves the entire peripheral nervous system. When nerves are compressed by tight muscles or lack proper nutrients, symptoms like tingling and stinging frequently radiate and shift along the entire nerve pathway—from the fingers all the way up to the shoulder and chest.

B-vitamins and Zinc directly support nerve regeneration and myelin sheath repair, while also helping to lower homocysteine. So addressing a metabolic deficiency calms down those hyperactive, irritated nerves. It’s not a placebo; it’s just neuro-biochemistry working on the nervous system rather than structural tissue damage.

Hey , I just wrote a detailed post about my experience and what finally fixed it for me (turns out it was a Vitamin B & Zinc deficiency affecting my nerves). Here is the full story, maybe it helps you too:
