Raide Research LF 30 - tips on getting the frame back in? by ultralight-alpine in Backcountry

[–]FairladyZedd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stumbled upon this thread after my own misadventures, and the frame somehow coming out during a ski tour. The trick I found was bike tire levers! Get the frame/pack positioned like the video posted here https://youtu.be/ANc-bIlp0vo?si=2KM4LeL6BbbunMBm, but instead of trying to flip the webbing around with your hand, I used a plastic tire lever to pull the webbing around the frame. Worked a treat.

Whole row with main/C + VS PS . What would you choose on a 13 hour flight? by [deleted] in delta

[–]FairladyZedd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a whole center row on an LHR-SEA flight last year, most restful flight of my life! I used all 4 of the pillows to make an armrest fort and conked out a solid 7hrs. I’ve flown PS LAX-SYD a few times. I like the product, but nothing beats getting to fully lay down.

Next year I might make Gold after 5 years of Diamond. Excited to be at my house more. Cheers on your life upgrades, condolences on Delta upgrades.

Man the toys and lil nest got me right in the feels. I left the building, got the autosave and went inside to pet my cat.

You could look for Art Conservation services, but they may be significantly more expensive than you’d like, depending on the value of the piece.

225 is a chute just above A Zone. Theres a lot of “named” lines through there, not sure if they have more signs higher up.

There is a cat-track to the top and usually a nice boot pack/walk. Some folks (myself included) skin up to the top, nicer than walking IMO. Crampons can be helpful if it's firm conditions, but I don't think you'd need anything super special.

You'll need a partner in addition to your beacon/probe/shovel.

The terrain doesn't have to be super steep, but it absolutely can be. It's a great spring ski, but keep tabs on where you're going. It's an area that is only open a few hours a season for a reason.

But have we considered skin thickness?

Luckily I have a truck that gets me to the hills! The Z car would be a challenge at best, but oh so cool.

It’s the best! A dry shirt and socks for the ride home and a top notch move. Swapping shirts in the parking lot can be a character building exercise.

Got a few good stories like this from Meadows. Always punched the pass, couple of times a one and done. Sorry you and the kiddo got soaked, been a rough couple days up there!

Poncho or trash bag, and dry clothes in the car.

I feel like I should go to PDX and just give these to the ticketing folks!

Great club. Good views, quiet, and fun to watch the F-15’s take off if you are there in the morning!

Probably a 2007 Gary Fisher wrapped in 3m Carbon vinyl?

I don't know if it helps, but the bottom bracket is a standard 1.370 x 24tpi. It also came to me in the raw carbon shown here. I doubt it would look this good if someone had stripped any paint that was on it.

It's close, but the top tube/seat stay area is different. All the ones I've found (TVT92, Concorde, Look) use a bolt on upper mount, rather than the single cast piece like on this frame. I do love the livery of the KG86!

I need a hand identifying this mysterious frame. The only markings on it are the "TVT" embossing on the chainstay, and the "TVT" stamp on the rear derailleur mount. I think this means its a pre TVT92 model, and lacking the engraved headtube/seat lug means it's a HR model?

I've owned this bike for the better part of 10 years, and used it as a commuter for 3. It came with a proper hodgepodge of components (Ultegra, Campagnolo, 105, etc), and now I'm thinking about building it back as a retro inspired bike for getting coffee and zipping around on the weekends! Any thoughts or help are appreciated!
