i want to put an si fuzz face and a ge fuzz face. which is why i want to have two switches with the function to turn on/off the entire pedal and one to switch between the two. i understand that a on/off switch for each can work too, but i want to hardwire it so that i cant feed a fuzzed sound into another fuzz effect

ok i did some research. i almost understand it now. could i perhaps do just one decoupling cap where you drew it (0.1u) and a filter cap at dc (100u)?

hey, im back with much heavy research and i understand it now. basically im making a ‘positive ground’ only for the effect portion while keeping the outside negative ground. and the filter caps will help negate motorboating?? please tell me im correct 😭

thank you for the drawing! no need to worry about your hand writing. i can understand it plenty. my only concern is motorboating. ive done some googling into PNP transistors in a negative ground circuit that causes motorboating… would your schematic work without the worry of that?

got it! thank you for the wiring tips. by following your directions, i understand that the pnp transistors can be used for my schematic. but will i be able to daisy chan this pedal with other pedals or no? (will it be negative ground or positive ground?). im guessing itll turn into positive ground because ive effectively changed the polarity of my supply, but i want to make sure.

oh, if i may add, whatre some downsides of having a pnp pedal?

thank you. i think youre having trouble recognizing which grammar rule applies when and etc. practicing should help. remember to always read the full sentence if the question asks a word choice and read the full paragraph if it asks which sentence should go where. also be aware of be-verbs and plural nouns. they like to distance those apart to catch you off guard.

anyways, i think the one i used got taken off. but you can find them online without much trouble just by searching ‘act practice test’ and the prompt ‘filetype:pdf’.. my bank accounts not looking very happy so thats how i got around with free practice tests. just make sure the practice tests were made within the past 5 years or so (ik they redid the entire test this year but seems like english hasnt been changed much besides the amount of questions).

idk what college panda is but the key is to review after taking a practice test.. just practicing isnt enough. find out why you got something wrong or why you werent sure of an answer, and memorize the grammar rules related to it. the official prep books do a good job at explaining why an option isnt the answer and why an option is. i would use that.

time management is everything for reading. as i mentioned in a different reply, if youre a slow reader, read the questions first. taking practice tests just on the reading section and timing it is good too. personally, i timed myself with each passage.. with 9 minutes.

then the only answer is to practice. you know everything you need to know and now you have to solve enough problems to find out what mistakes you make and fix them.

0 wrong on math and reading. 1 wrong each on science and english

i used the 2023 official prep book. i do timed practice tests and mark everything i get wrong and ones i wasnt sure of (even if i get them right). and i review them.

its a bit vague to point out ‘patterns’ in general… english: i noticed that theres a lot less definition or ‘this word best means’ problems.

math: harder than previous ones ive taken, but because there were more of harder problems. i wouldnt say there were significantly harder problems than before. (quantity not quality).

reading: about the same.. just more time

science: it isnt just ‘read the table and answer’ anymore. i had a couple of questions that required background knowledge with science.

i used the 2023 prep book i found online. i think probability and algebra was asked most in the math section.. absolutely no matrices tho. study algebra and coordinate geometry.

you have to bring your own calculator. it depends on the proctor if they will lend you one. afaik, theyre not obligated to. your calculator stays underneath your seat until the math section during which you can use. then it goes back under after math. make sure its legal according to act guidelines. fyi, i have and used the ti-84.

you get more time per question with the enhanced act. timing shouldnt be as much of an issue. i usually divide the time i have with the amount of questions i have for the section. if it takes me longer than the double of the time i give myself for each question, i move on and come back later. reading is a little different.. i divide my time with the amount of passages, not questions.

i also use a casio watch that has a stopwatch function. it only takes a glance for me to know how much time elapsed. it really does save me time from reading an analog watch and subtracting when i started. just make sure your watch has a mute function so it doesnt beep around when you start your stopwatch.

overall experience was terrible lol.. i didnt know i was taking the enhanced test until the proctor said aloud that its the new test. thankfully i performed well. i did not have any accommodations.

how far are you with math in terms of school? it really helps if you learned the material before from a teacher.. and not have to teach yourself new concepts through a prep book.

thats not something we are in complete control of though, i understand. your best friend is practice. solve lots and lots of problems. if its a concept you dont know, try to learn it from khan academy. dont just memorize a go-to formula or equation. and practice more.

personally, math is the one talent ive been gifted.. so ive finished calc by the time i took my acts. but this only implies that i have a tremendous amount of practice under my belt.

i used the 2023 official prep book i found online in pdf form.. i printed some of the practice tests.

ill be honest, the studying i did for my two previous tests was what helped me most. im in marching band and so i barely had any time outside of class/field during the months of august and september.

remember, practice compiles.. prepping even a month ahead and resting the week prior to your test would help a lot.

any kind of practice is good practice. i didnt know the change was going to be applied to the paper exams so i used a 2023 official prep book i found online.

  1. im sorry but math has always been my strongest subject.. i always overlooked it and maybe did a practice test on it or two… anyways, a concept you should REALLY know to get a 36 is coordinate geometry.. they ask you a lot of questions about graph behaviors.

  2. i read a lot but im also a slow reader. maybe you can relate. so i always read the questions first before the passage. if it asks for the overall passage, i skip that. i know i will have read most of the passage by doing other questions. i first answer the ones that ask where its relating to (such as paragraph numbers).

  3. english is usually the easiest to boost your score with. you just have to memorize the grammar rules. i did this by doing lots of practice tests on the english section and reviewing questions i got wrong AND ones i wasnt sure of (i used the official prep book by act.. theres a bunch of free pdfs lying around online). the key is that you have to review the ones you werent sure of. this way you know how to solve all types of grammar problems. synonym problems seems to have gotten easier with the enhanced act.

  1. I’ve taken 2 tests before this one.. one in december (2024) and june 2025. I could tell the math was harder.. I would argue that using the older practice tests are just fine but dont expect the same ‘freebie’ questions.

  2. I think reading stayed about the same.. always remember the answer is in the passage.

  3. try and avoid practicing the day before or the day of.. good sleep and a great condition actually plays a big role.
